The 1st Air Fleet is a Japanese fleet featured in Call of Duty: Vanguard appearing in the campaign mission The Battle of Midway.
Overview[]
Wade Jackson alongside his tail-gunner, Mateo Hernandez, and the rest of their squadron were tasked with engaging the 1st Air Fleet and destroy two aircraft carriers, the Soryu and the Kaga. The squadron and dive bombers fought a first wave of A6M Zeros coming from the 1st Air Fleet before Jackson dived above the Soryu, destroying it. Another squadron of Zeros was deployed to protect the remaining aircraft carrier but was ultimately defeated. Jackson subsequently dived above the Kaga and destroyed it.
