3rd Person Mode, also known as 3rd Person Moshpit, is a Multiplayer playlist featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. It is also available in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in Private Matches.

Overview[]

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2[]

The 3rd Person Mode is unlocked at level 19 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The playlist functions like the regular multiplayer modes but with an over-the-shoulder view. The player can also swap between the left and right shoulder when aiming. Aiming down sight will zoom the camera view. Using a Red Dot Sight, Holographic Sight, or an ACOG Scope will increase the zoom. However, using a Sniper Scope or a Thermal Scope will turn the camera view into a first-person view when aiming down sight.

The 3rd Person Mode is only available with the Team Tactical playlist which features two teams of 4 players and five game modes: Team Deathmatch, Domination, Demolition, Capture the Flag, and Search and Destroy

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3[]

The 3rd Person Mode is only available as an option in Private Matches, including for Split Screen, in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The mode works exactly like the Modern Warfare 2 version.

During the Multiplayer Beta, the playlist was available however the camera would be put in first-person view whenever the player would aim down sight, regardless of the weapon. This was changed with the full game and the view would change back to first-person only if a player was using a 4x Scope.

In Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, the 3rd Person BR Mode was one of the launch playlists for the game on November 16th, 2022 and was originally limited to the Trios mode.
