Call of Duty: Mobile[]

"Highly mobile sawed-off shotgun. Effectively lethal at close range at the cost of fire rate and reloading speed."
— In-game description

The 725 returns in Call of Duty: Mobile as the Shorty. It was added in July of 2021 as part of the Season 5: In Deep Water update. In this game, it is classified as a pistol rather than a shotgun.

Multiplayer[]

The Shorty varies vastly from its pistol peers, being a shotgun by default and having limited range. It also lacks ammo with 1 round in each tube (2 in total), which means that if the weapon is spammed recklessly, the 10 reserve rounds will be quickly spent. If the player plans to use the Shorty, using either Vulture or the Full Ammo perk will increase the amount of times the Shorty can be used. Interestingly, the Shorty has exceptional damage per pellet at range, at the end of its effective range (~15 meters) it can still one-shot if all pellets hit, though this is somewhat uncommon. As such, building the weapon for accuracy when aiming down sights is a valid tactic for the Shorty.

Using slug rounds is a choice available, but it will actually decrease damage at range, being a two-shot kill, but the slug has much longer range and can still hit an enemy at 40 meters. In extremely close range (<5 meters), it can kill with one-shot, but unless the player can accurately land headshots at longer ranges, it will almost always be a two-shot kill to the body. The slugs also suffer from the same pellet spread as normal shells, so it is inadvisable to use the weapon at extremely long ranges.

In general, the Shorty is very effective as a last resort weapon, or as a pseudo-primary in close-range maps.

Battle Royale[]

The Shorty is not available as standard loot in Battle Royale. However, it can be looted as a custom weapon from airdrops. Although it is classified as a pistol in Multiplayer, it uses shotgun ammo. Like other shotguns, it cannot equip the QRF Mods or Void Mods, but it can equip Extend Mods, which increase capacity to 4 no matter the rarity of said mod, and will increase reload speed accordingly. The Shorty is great for taking down unarmored targets at close range, and can still take down foes with high level armor with relative ease.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II & Modern Warfare III[]

"This break-action shotgun sacrifices ammo capacity for extended range and a tight pellet spread."
— In-game description

The 725 returns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II as the Lockwood 300.

The Lockwood 300 is also available in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III as part of the Modern Warfare II content carryover.

Overview[]

Campaign[]

The Lockwood 300 is used heavily by the Al-Qatala and Las Almas Cartel during the campaign. It is also featured in the level "Alone", where it can be found either next to a dead civilian or set up as a booby trap by Shadow Company. In the level "El Sin Nombre", a suppressed Lockwood 300 with a short barrel and removed stock can be found inside a safe in Diego's room.

Trivia[]

General[]

  • When firing the 725, the player can hear and see two shells dropping onto the ground like with other shotguns, despite the fact that the 725 does not eject shells until reloading.

Call of Duty: Mobile[]

  • The weapon model is based on the "CQBoom" blueprint from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
  • Unlike other Shorty skins which have over-and-under designs like the base weapon, the Aether Machine and Gripping Thunder blueprints have side-by-side designs.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II[]

  • The "Super Shotgun" blueprint has several unique elements:
    • It has a unique first person viewmodel (with a side-by-side design) and reload animation. Similar to the EX1 "Noclip" blueprint, it has low frame rate animations, mimicking the retro style of the original DOOM games.
    • When picking up ammo from a dropped Super Shotgun on the ground, a unique sound will play similar to ammo pickups in the DOOM games.
    • The blueprint's attachments cannot be modified.
