The 9-Bang grenade is a throwable concussion device in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
The device is similar to the flashbang from previous Modern Warfare titles; however, after the first explosion, another eight detonations occur in fast succession, hence the name "9-Bang." It is only used by Delta Force during the campaign. 9-Bangs are first usable in the mission "Black Tuesday", where Sandman orders the player to use them on multiple occasions. They are also usable in the missions; "Hunter Killer", "Bag and Drag", "Iron Lady", and "Scorched Earth".
Call of Duty: Ghosts
- "Holding produces more flashes to blind the enemy. Fully cooked 9-bangs create an EMP effect that stuns electronics."
- — In-game description
The 9-Bang grenade appears in Call of Duty: Ghosts. The longer it is held and "charged" the more effective it is.
Trivia
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
- There is a glitch that after first detonation, the remaing 8 flashes does not blind the player (PC Version).
- They do not appear in Multiplayer, instead the regular Flashbang grenade is used.
