- For a similarly named aircraft, see An-124.
The AN-94 is an assault rifle that appears in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Call of Duty: Strike Team, Call of Duty Online, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Call of Duty: Mobile, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized[]
Campaign[]
The AN-94 is featured as a common weapon throughout the entire game. It is available to pick up frequently in the USMC missions and the first and third SAS ones. It has very high accuracy and high power as well as the highest ammo capacity and reserved ammo of all assault rifles, though the sights are a bit obstructive. It is capable of taking out an enemy in one or two shots to the torso or higher, unless it is a headshot, which would result in a one-hit-kill. It is probably the most common weapon alongside the AK-74.
Multiplayer[]
The AN-94 is an assault rifle unlocked for the Insurgents factions after the Skorpion with 150 kills. The AN-94 is favored by most players due to its controllable fire rate, high accuracy and high power, as well as more ammo capacity and larger magazine. The AN-94 can take down multiple enemies due to its 30-round magazine and high rate of fire. The weapon also features a low muzzle flash and visual kick. However, the AN-94 suffers from its obstructive rectangular iron sights. Due to this, most players prefer to hip fire with the weapon while crouching. Overall, the AN-94 is a fairly decent weapon to use in multiplayer for its advantage in power, accuracy, fire rate and ammo capacity.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II[]
Campaign[]
- "Fully automatic assault rifle. Moderate recoil and power."
- — Description
The AN-94 is one of the common assault rifles in the campaign, as it's mostly used by the Mercs and Yemeni Militia. DeFalco is seen holding it in the mission Achilles' Veil when the player is forced to either shoot Harper or Menendez. The AN-94 is unlocked when Suffer With Me is completed.
In campaign, the rifle doesn't have the unique two round burst when firing.
Multiplayer[]
- "Fully automatic assault rifle. The first 2 rounds of each burst are fired at a faster rate."
- — Description in Create-A-Class
The AN-94 is the last weapon to be unlocked in the assault rifle category, and is unlocked at level 55.
The AN-94 is a moderately high damage per bullet assault rifle. At any range short of 29m, the AN-94 will deal forty damage per bullet, needing three shots to kill. At any range between 29m and 56m, the AN-94 will deal 33 damage per bullet, needing four shots to kill, or three if one bullet is a headshot. At any range beyond 56m, the AN-94 will deal 24 damage per bullet, taking five shots to kill - four if one bullet hits the head. The AN-94 is a one shot kill in Hardcore out to 56m, and the AN-94 has medium penetration power. For a fully automatic assault rifle, the AN-94 has one of the better damage profiles in the class, with the three shot kill range only being bested by the SCAR-H as far as fully automatic assault rifles go.
AN-94 has a variable rate of fire. The first two rounds in a burst (the period that the player holds down the trigger) are fired at 937 RPM, whereas all other shots in the burst are fired at a more lethargic 625 RPM. Ceasing to fire will reset the enhanced fire rate for the next burst. The AN-94 can be extremely deadly if the user gets either of the first two bullets to land, but after the first two shots, the low fire rate starts to take a toll on the AN-94's close range effectiveness.
AN-94's accuracy is a mixed bag. The iron sights are some of the clearest in the game, with little obstruction around the central post, but the recoil can be somewhat annoying. The horizontal recoil is small enough and not an issue, but the problem is that the AN-94 has no downwards recoil value, meaning the AN-94 always kicks upwards. Thankfully, both of the AN-94's upwards recoil values aren't too large, but it means that the user will be responsible for counteracting this recoil. The first shot in a burst for the AN-94 has 5% less recoil per shot, a trait unique to the AN-94 in the assault rifle category. This recoil reduction is very slight, but certainly helps. The recoil becomes much more manageable after the first two shots. The centerspeed of the AN-94 is 1500, an average value.
The handling traits of the AN-94 are run of the mill. Users move at 95% of the base speed, or 40% when strafing. The hip-fire spread is of an average size, and the aim down sight time is average, at 250ms. The AN-94's reload speeds are quite good for an assault rifle, taking 2.47s for a partial reload, or 3.1s for an empty reload. In either case, a Reload Cancel can be performed after 1.35s. This reload cancel speed is very fast - only bested by the SCAR-H among all assault rifles - and mastering the reload cancel will eliminate the need for Fast Mag.
The AN-94 has the assault rifle standard 30 round magazine capacity, and 120 round starting ammo loadout.
The AN-94 has the standard assortment of attachments available to it. Reflex Sight and EOTech Sight are both a waste on the AN-94. The AN-94 has no need for an optical sight at all, given how clean the iron sights are. These sights can be seen as a downgrade, seeing how being under the effects of an EMP can take out the reticle for these sights, whereas the iron sights deal with no such weakness. Anyways, if players feel more comfortable with these than the iron sights, it is still fine to use them.
Fast Mag is somehow unnecessary, as the AN-94 already possesses a very quick reload cancel time, although it never hurts to equip it.
Foregrip provides next to no benefit, seeing how the 2% more centerspeed it gives is so minuscule.
Quickdraw Handle and Adjustable Stock are both fantastic options for a more aggressive style, and the AN-94 lends itself well to such a role. Quickdraw will cut the aim down sight time in half, and Stock allows the user to strafe at 80% of the base speed, double the assault rifles' default. If players are going to use the AN-94 in a more reserved and static style, these attachments won't be of as much benefit.
Laser Sight tightens the AN-94's hip-fire spread by 37.5%, making hip-fire much more accurate and reliable. This attachment can make the AN-94 deadly in close quarters, but some may prefer a larger hip-fire cone.
FMJ increases the AN-94 to having high penetration power and will increase the damage per shot the AN-94 does to aerial scorestreaks. The usefulness of this attachment boils down to whether or not the user will take advantage of that enhanced ability to shoot through walls.
ACOG and Target Finder both act as long range oriented sights to assist with combat at such ranges, while being poor sights to use for close quarters combat. The ACOG preserves more peripheral vision and provides an ever so slight centerspeed increase (2%), while the Target Finder will illuminate enemies not using Cold Blooded with a red diamond. Neither attachment is very useful for the aggressive player, but the more defensive player may find use for these sights.
Extended Clip increases the AN-94's magazine capacity from thirty rounds per magazine to forty, and increases the starting ammo loadout to 160 rounds total. This is a good alternative to those who don't want to use Scavenger but want more ammo. Reloads are ten percent longer when using Extended Clip, which can throw off users who are accustomed to the reload cancel of the stock AN-94.
Hybrid Optic combines Reflex with the ACOG to provide a dual sight configuration. Neither sight is really useful for a weapon with clean iron sights like the AN-94, and it is incompatible with the Grenade Launcher.
Suppressor reduces the AN-94's three and four hit kill ranges, but will prevent the AN-94 from making the user appear on radar when firing. The AN-94's three hit kill range is one of the key strengths of the weapon, and compromising such a strength gives less reason to use the AN-94. Other assault rifles are much better fits for the Suppressor.
Grenade launcher gives the AN-94 two grenades. These grenades can be useful to kill campers entrenched in sniper's nests and the like. It's recommended to use the launcher with Fast Mag, since said attachment speeds up the reload speed of the launcher. As such, the launcher is best used on a weapon that greatly benfits from Fast Mag, which the AN-94 doesn't.
Select Fire is extremely unique on the AN-94. The burst fire option on the AN-94 gives a two round burst instead of a three round burst. This essentially means that the AN-94 can always fire at its elevated fire rate. On top of that, the AN-94 gets its centerspeed increased to 1600, making the AN-94 more accurate. Select Fire is a very interesting attachment choice to consider, but seeing how the AN-94 will always need more than one burst to kill an opponent, its value is questionable.
MMS gives a very low-zoom, x-ray sight that can pick up non-moving players through walls up to a moderate distance. The MMS can be very useful just for the ultra-low zoom level it provides, which is innately smaller than the AN-94 iron sights, but the x-ray effect rarely comes into play. Cold Blooded users don't show up at all, nor will it pick up enemies that are either moving or far enough away. The many limitations of the MMS' x-ray effect make it a questionable choice overall.
Overall, the AN-94 is one of the most popular assault rifles in Black Ops II, despite the very late unlock. It's a very versatile rifle that is very competitive at medium ranges thanks to its rock solid three hit kill range, very clean iron sights, and predictable recoil.
Zombies[]
The AN-94 is available in Zombies. It is purchasable off the wall in Die Rise, Buried and Borough for 1200 points. In Die Rise, it is located in the upside down building, facing the player when they come out of the inverted elevator shaft. In Buried, its chalk outline is found in the Gunsmith shop and can be placed at any of six predetermined locations. In Borough, it is located at the mansion to the right of the door. For a weapon off the wall, it is a very effective weapon, more so than many weapons available from the Mystery Box, due to its high accuracy and fire rate as well as good damage and a high reserve ammunition capacity of 300 rounds. Furthermore, the ability to purchase its ammo from its chalk outline makes it a reliable weapon to carry around. Even when it is not Pack-a-Punched, it is still effective in later rounds, especially with Double Tap Root Beer to keep its damage rate against zombies relatively high.
When Pack-a-Punched, it becomes the Actuated Neutralizer 94000. It has a 50-round magazine and 600 reserved ammo, as well as increased damage. Initially, it will come with a Reflex Sight equipped, and will cycle through attachments by Pack-a-Punching it again for 2,000 points. These other attachments include the Target Finder, the Foregrip, and the Millimeter Scanner. The Reflex Sight cannot be obtained again if it is Pack-a-Punched more than once.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III[]
- "Full-auto assault rifle. The first 2 rounds of each burst are fired at a faster rate."
- — Description
The AN-94 was added to Call of Duty: Black Ops III on July 11, 2017 under the name KVK 99m, only available through the Black Market[1]. Its aesthetic is highly reminiscent of the Call of Duty: Black Ops II version. Similarly to Black Ops II, the first two rounds of every burst are fired at a faster rate, making it ideal to burst-fire for faster kills.
When fired from no more than 18.5 meters, the KVK 99m will three shot kill players with a damage of 35. Between 18.5 and 43 meters, the weapon inflicts 29 damage and requires four rounds to kill enemies. It finally becomes a five shot kill past 43 meters with a damage of 22. The Long Barrel attachment increases the damage range by 30% as opposed to the doubled range of most Assault rifles.

Call of Duty: Mobile[]
- "Fully automatic assault rifle. The first three rounds of burst are fired at a higher accuracy."
- — In-game description
The AN-94 returns in Call of Duty: Mobile as the ASM10. The weapon gets huge accuracy values upon firing the first 3 shots.
Multiplayer[]
The ASM10 is a very good close range assault rifle in Multiplayer mode. The gun features the ability to 3-shot kill with moderate recoil and rate of fire. However, the gun suffers from the lack of mobility and a slow reload.
It has almost little to no bullet spread, making it beam enemies at long ranges. Equipping the Branson attachment will make the weapons now fire as "hyperburst" mechanic, simillar to previous games, the first 2 bullets with the Branson attachment fires significantly fast.
Battle Royale[]
The ASM10 in Battle Royale is a very good medium to long range gun. It has low and easy to control recoil. It is currently unavailable on the ground, but can be selected in the player's customized loadout.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare[]
- "Cutting edge 5.45x39mm Russian assault rifle with a unique hyperburst feature. The initial shot from each trigger pull fires a rapid 2-round burst before perceived recoil is felt, creating a tightly grouped cluster with increased damage potential. This mechanism is fed by a canted magazine, and a reciprocating receiver helps keep control of the recoil."
- — In-game description
The AN-94 returns in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It was added as part of the Season Five update. Like other iterations of the AN-94, this weapon possesses a "hyperburst" feature, allowing the weapon to fire a rapid 2-round burst with every pull of the trigger with little to no added recoil. It is manufactured by Verdansk Arms Plant.

Trivia[]
Call of Duty: Black Ops II[]
- The serial number for the AN-94 is "30948453".
- When each round is fired or the weapon is cocked, the barrel reciprocates.
- The rounds held in the AN-94's magazine are 3D, but the actual magazine itself is solid, as shown by one of the rounds appearing to phase through the top with another sitting above it.
- On the right side of the weapon, it reads "АH-94 5.43 x 39" ("AH-94" being Cyrillic script for "AN-94"), and the Izhmash logo is seen.
- The AN-94 has two rear sights, the one being used is mounted on a pre-attached optic rail. The one further from the front post is unusable.
- When stored in the Weapon Locker in Die Rise or Buried, and it is taken out in Green Run, it becomes the Galil and vice versa.
- The magazine is canted slightly to the right (due to the weapon's unique feeding system), making it harder to see from the first person. For this reason, the magazine also occasionally goes through the wall on its wallbuy in Zombies.
Call of Duty: Strike Team[]
- During cutscenes, sometimes soldiers are equipped with AP-96s rather than their initial loadout.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III[]
- The KVK 99m is made in the United States, as evidenced by the text on the Fast Mag.
- The KVK 99m has a different recoil viewkick underwater. Adding a Foregrip reverts to the regular viewkick.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4[]
- The AN-94's default magazine model is changed to the Extended Mags model in Black Ops III.
- Equipping an ACOG Scope on the AN-94 and aiming down sights underwater will cause the view model to flip to the left side of the screen.
Call of Duty Online[]
- Once again the AN94 has two rear sights, with one being an AK-style iron sight, while the other one is unusable. The pre-attached optic rail would have blocked the second iron sight.
- On the left side of the rifle there is a sticker saying "GOOD ASSEMBLY", with unreadable text and an unusable QR code below it.
- The magazine isn't canted slightly to the right. This also applies to Call of Duty: Mobile as both models are nearly identical.
Call of Duty: Mobile[]
- In the Chinese version, the ASM10 retains the name from Call of Duty Online as the AN94.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare[]
- The AN-94’s serial number is "00250295".
- Markings that say "СДЕЛАНО В КАСТОВИИ" (Made in Kastovia) can be seen just below the iron sights, on the left side of the weapon. This contrasts the description of the AN-94 in the Gunsmith preview, which states it to be of Russian origin.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III[]
- The SVA 545's Pack-a-Punch name, Crotalus, is a reference to Crotalus, a genus of venomous pit vipers, commonly known as rattlesnakes or rattlers.
- The name of Ivanov Group appears on the stock.
- By having the "Death's Hand BlackCell" blueprint selected in the Create-A-Class menu, the player's screen will have a static effect enabled.
