Advanced Rifling is an attachment featured in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Call of Duty: WWII.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare[]

"Increased range."
— In-game description

In Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, the attachment modifies and extends a weapon's barrel, allowing for increased range by 25%. It is available to submachine guns, shotguns, pistols, three heavy weapons (Pytaek, Ameli and Ohm), and the M1 Irons. It is integrated to the Ameli "Chicanery" and "Royalty" supply drop variants.

The attachment is a strictly positive benefit, and its effect is especially pronounced on weapons/variants with multiple damage drop-offs as opposed to just one. Although Advanced Rifling cannot counteract a Suppressor, Advanced Rifling is allowed to counteract the range loss conferred from Rapid Fire.

It is very important to consider how the variant is affecting the weapon before using this attachment. The attachment is virtually useless on weapons/variants that have no damage drop-off, such as the Ameli Heavy, which is a three shot kill at all ranges, or the Ohm, which has a three shot kill range of 200 meters, essentially guaranteed to never need four shots to kill by default. The attachment is most useful on weapons that have drastic damage drop-offs, such as the AMR9, which can take up to seven shots to kill on some variants, but can kill in as few as three shots. Like previous range-enhancing attachments, Advanced Rifling is extremely valuable on a shotgun, increasing not just one-shot kill reliability, but also the effective range in which enemies can be hit at all. In Hardcore game types, the attachment is extremely useful for boosting one's own one shot kill range, especially so on long-ranged SMG variants that have long - but not infinite - one shot kill ranges in Hardcore.

Call of Duty: WWII[]

"Increases damage falloff range."
— Description

Advanced rifling returns in Call of Duty: WWII , being able to be equipped on SMGsShotguns, Rifles (Semi-auto/Automatic), and Pistols.

Advanced rifling increases damage falloff ranges by 30% on SMGs, stacking with the Suppressor, having a net 9% range decrease. Advanced rifling doubles the maximum damage ranges of all rifles, except the BAR, being a very effective attachment to combat targets at long range when combined with an Reflex Sight or 4x Optic and Grip, however few maps have such ranges. Only the PPSh-41 and (to lesser degree, 3-shot range unaffected) MP-40 SMGs see any worthwhile improvement in the SMG category. For hardcore, only the M1941, STG44,Volkssturmgewehr, Grease Gun, MP-40, Sten, Luger, Walther P38, Reichsrevolver and (to lesser extent) BAR see any improvement. Shotguns see a decent minimum range increase of about 10%, allowing the player to damage targets at further ranges.
