The Aether Blade is a lethal equipment and Wonder Weapon featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Zombies. It was added on January 17th, 2024 as part of the Season One Reloaded update.
Overview[]
The Aether Blade functions similarly to the Hell's Retriever and Hell's Redeemer from the Zombies maps Mob of the Dead and Blood of the Dead: when thrown, the blade automatically hits and chains several zombies in proximity, before returning to the player, requiring a short cooldown before it can be thrown again. The blade is a one-hit kill to normal zombies in any threat zone.
The Aether Blade can only be found in the Dark Aether zone in Operation Deadbolt, in which it is a possible contract reward. Players can obtain an "Aether Blade Case" that can either be activated or extracted for future usage. Schematics for the Aether Blade can be found as a contract reward in the Hard version of the Dark Aether zone (requiring an Elder Sigil to enter).
