Biography[]
Early Life[]
Alejandro Vargas grew up in Las Almas alongside his second-in-command, Rodolfo Parra. He admitted to skipping school in order to spend time in the mountainous trails at the outskirts of the city, which, by the time the campaign takes place, is now a Cartel hideout.
At some point in his life, most likely once he turned 18, he enlisted in the Mexican Army and, at another undisclosed point after that, joined the Mexican Special Forces, serving alongside Valeria Garza. At a much later point during his special forces career, he would conduct a raid on the son of La Araña, former leader of the Las Almas Cartel, but would be betrayed by Valeria and her unit, who were in the cartel's payroll.[1] Eventually Vargas was promoted to Colonel and became the commanding officer of Los Vaqueros, a special forces unit composed solely of non corrupt operators who grew up in Las Almas.
At an unknown point, presumably after Valeria's Betrayal, he would make contact with Kate Laswell and began cooperating with her, even progressing as far as to reach a "first name basis"[2], indicating a level of mutual trust between them. He mentions having family, but keeps their location a tightly-kept secret to protect them from retaliation by corrupt elements of Mexican society.[3]
Missile Crisis[]
Pursuing Hassan through the United States[]
On October 29th, 2022, Alejandro and Rodolfo went to the US-Mexico Border following intel provided Kate Laswell, to prevent Hassan Zyani from crossing the border with the help Las Almas Cartel. They were a step behind, as Hassan managed to cross the border. Forcing the two to chase him in the United States, where they have no legal authority. They crossed over many houses in a residential neighborhood. Eventually, they were cornered by local police officers outside the cartel safehouse, one of the officers recognized Alejandro and ordered his men to not arrest the two, however, before they can do anything, they were fired at by cartel members. Alejandro and Rodolfo survived the ambush, Rodolfo moved forward to clear the safehouse while Alejandro kept the outer perimeter secured. Despite his best effort, Hassan still managed to escape.
Mountain Raid[]
On October 30th, 2022, Alejandro, Rodolfo alongside with Los Vaqueros operators and Soap, Ghost of Task Force 141 raided a cartel safehouse in the mountains of Las Almas. After fighting their way through the area, they managed to reach the final building, there, they discovered that they had missed the window, as Hassan was moved beforehand. They were then attacked by corrupt elements of the Mexican Army and forced to escape from the hideout.
Separated from the rest of Los Vaqueros, Alejandro leads Soap and Ghost into the mountains via trails with the Army chasing them, while Rodriguez unsuccessfully attempts to radio for help. After losing Rodriguez to a sniper shot, Alejandro leads Ghost and Soap into jumping from the cliff into the river below. Together they swim while fighting their way to the extraction point at a nearby bridge, there, the Mexican Army managed to suppress the team, preventing them from escape. Air support from Commander Phillip Graves of Shadow Company managed to arrive in time, clearing the bridge, allowing Alejandro, Soap, and Ghost to escape.
Compound Raid[]
Alejandro then secured a vehicle and drove the team to a nearby Cartel compound, where Hassan was possibly located at.
At the compound, Alejandro assisted Soap and Ghost in clearing several buildings, while Graves provided support from the AC-130. Eventually, the team manged to secure Hassan, taking him into custody as Rodolfo arriveed in a getaway vehicle to extract them. As they were passing through town of Olmeda, the team was ambushed by members of the Las Almas Cartel, Alejandro with the rest of the team on took defensive positions on the rooftop of a building and fought off waves of attack from Cartel members and later, corrupt Mexican Army soldiers attempting to recover Hassan, with fire support from the Graves.
Capturing El Sin Nombre[]
On November 1st, 2022, Soap, Alejandro, Ghost and Graves hatched a plan to infiltrate the home of a Las Almas Cartel lieutenant in search of the elusive El Sin Nombre. Alejandro infiltrated the mansion as a guard and assited Soap in making his way to the third floor of the mansion, where they discover that El Sin Nombre is none other than Alejandro's former teammate, Valeria Garza. They eliminated the remaining Las Almas Cartel members and took her into custody on the mansion's roof before returning to the Fuerzas Especiales Headquarters. During the subsequent interrogation, Alejandro revealed some of his past history with Valeria after being goaded by her. He then warned Graves and 141 to make a deal with her before storming out angrily.
Oil Rig Assault[]
Following the interrogation, Valeria revealed the location of the second missile: On an abandoned oil rig off the Gulf of Mexico, prompting Alejandro, Soap, Ghost alongside with Shadow Company to conduct an assault on it. Despite their best efforts, the missile still managed to enter it's pre-launch phase, there, Soap and Graves also found out that the missile control wasn't on the ship. Ghost then spotted it being located on the deck of the ship. Alejandro remained on the platform with Shadow Company contractors while Soap and Graves reinforce Ghost on nearby cargo ship. They then reached the deck of the ship, where the trio learned that the missile can't be disarmed anymore, which prompted Shepherd to told Graves to launch the missile at the rig, "disarming" it alongside with destroying the rig. Ghost then instructed Alejandro and Shadow Company contractors on the rig to withdraw from it. With helps from Graves, Soap launched the missile at the rig, destroying it with the rig, with Alejandro and the Shadow Company contractors evacuating just in time, accomplishing their mission.
Betrayed by Shadow Company[]
As the team returned to Fuerzas Especiales Headquarters, Graves revealed Alejandro's men were detained and Shadow Company took over the base with the support of General Herschel Shepherd. A firefight broke out, with Ghost escaping and an injured Soap escaping, while Alejandro was captured. Later, with Ghost's instructions, Soap managed to evade Shadow Company contractors and reunited with him and escaped to Alejandro's safehouse. The two met with Alejandro's second-in-command, Rodolfo Parra, and discuss their plan to break into the Prison.
Soap, Ghost and Rodolfo planned to rescue Alejandro and free the remaning Los Vaqueros forces. After planning it out carefully, they then broke in and head to the security room, where Ghost told Soap to guide him through the cameras while he plants C4s to create diversions. After Ghost had planted all the charges, Rodolfo managed to locate Alejandro, then they regrouped and breached the prison cells and rescued Alejandro alongside with other Los Vaqueros operators.
While Soap, Ghost, Alejandro, Rodolfo alongside with Los Vaqueros operators were exiting the prison, they were stopped by a Shadow Company's helicopter, which was shot down by Price, who then deployed ropes to get them out, Price ordered Gaz, Soap and Ghost to overwatch and cover fire for Vaqueros. After all the Los Vaqueros operators had climbed the wall, the team and Alejandro exfilled from the prison.
Retaking Los Vaqueros Headquarters[]
After being freed and returned to his safehouse, Alejandro railed Los Vaqueros operators and Task Force 141 memebers, they then formed Joint Task Force - Ghost Team and launched an assault against Shadow Company, who was occupying the Fuerzas Especiales Headquarters. The Ghost Team separated their attacks into two teams.
Team 1, consisting of Price, Alejandro, Gaz, and a Los Vaqueros operator infiltrated the base from the underground, while Team 2, consisting of Soap, Ghost, Rodolfo alongside with other Los Vaqueros operators attacked from the front gates. Gaz and Alejandro then secured Hangar 3, where Shadow Company is holding Valeria, Team 2 then managed to reach the Headquarters, where they spotted Graves fleeing, as they pushed into the training grounds, Price's helicopter was shot down, which prompted Ghost to help him, forcing Soap and Rodolfo to fight on their own against Graves, who was in a tank. With clever maneuvering combined with the usage of C4s, Soap managed to destroy the tank, seemingly killing Graves.
After the base had been secured, Alejandro and Rodolfo took Valeria back into custody as they bid farewell to Soap, Ghost and Task Force 141 on the base's runway. As the Task Force returned to the United States to pursuit Hassan and disarm the final missile.
New Operations[]
In April 2023, Valeria escaped custody and mobilized Las Almas Cartel to Al Mazrah. Following a request from Laswell, Alejandro departed for Al Mazrah, while leaving Rodolfo in charge of Los Vaqueros. He headed for Hafid Port, where the cartel was conducting operations.
