Altered Strain was an event featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 available between June 26th and July 24th, 2024 during Season Four Reloaded of Modern Warfare III.
Overview[]
During the event, players were tasked with killing enemy operatives in Multiplayer or Warzone, or killing Zombies and Mercenaries in the Operation Deadbolt. A DNA Sample will drop after every kill.
The DNA Samples were divided into four categories, Ade-DGT, Cyto-RCG, Thy-HGT, and Gua-RSRF. At the start of the event, only the Ade-DGT category and the first two rewards of the Cyto-RCG category were available.
DNA Samples Drop[]
The number of DNA Samples per drop varied between modes and enemies.
In Multiplayer, DNA Samples could only be found in the Mutation mode.
In Operation Deadbolt, the DNA Samples for each drop were originally as follows: 20 for Zombies, 28 for Hellhounds, and 48 for Special and Elite Zombies, and Mercenaries. On July 3rd, the DNA Samples for each drop were increased to 24, 34, and 59 respectively. On July 10th, the DNA Samples for each drop were increased to 45, 63, and 108 respectively.
Rewards[]
Each category featured different rewards, with 6 rewards for a total of 12500 Ade-DGT DNA Samples, 5 rewards for a total of 12500 Cyto-RCG DNA Samples, 4 rewards for a total of 9350 Thy-HGT DNA Samples, and 3 rewards for a total of 6250 Gua-RSRF DNA Samples.
