Arms Race is a gamemode in Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II[]

Arms Race was a temporary game mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, which was introduced to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game on April 30, 2013 and was removed on June 27, 2013.  It appeared under the "Bonus" playlist. The game mode would play the same as normal Team Deathmatch, however instead of earning 100 score per kill, the player(s) would earn 150. Note that it does not help the player level up faster, as the score went toward the players scorestreaks, not XP.[1]

The increased score allowed players to earn scorestreaks faster. For example, to call in a UAV, a player had to earn 425 score. In normal Team Deathmatch, this would require a player not running Hardline to get five kills with no assists to call one in. In Arms Race it took only takes three kills, which falls more in line with the requirements of the respective killstreak (Spy Plane) in Call of Duty: Black Ops or the pointstreak requirement of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
