The Axis Powers, also known as the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Axis, was the name of a military alliance between several European and some Asian countries during World War II, hostile to the Allied Powers.

The three leading Axis Powers were Germany, Italy, and Japan which are all featured as the main enemy in every Call of Duty game set in World War II, as well as being playable factions in multiplayer. Vichy France appear as an Axis faction too, athough they weren't officially part of the military alliance.

They also serve as one of two playable factions in the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: WWII, with the other being the Allied Powers.

Call of Duty & Call of Duty: United Offensive[]

Germany is the only Axis power encountered in Call of Duty and Call of Duty: United Offensive.

Call of Duty 2[]

Germany is the only Axis Power encountered in Call of Duty 2.

Call of Duty 2: Big Red One[]

Campaign[]

Nazi Germany and the Kingdom of Italy are featured enemies in Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. Vichy France is the enemy in the mission "Baptism By Fire", though it was not one of the Axis Powers.

Multiplayer[]

The Wehrmacht, Royal Italian Army and Vichy French Military are playable factions in the multiplayer mode on the Axis side.

Call of Duty 3[]

Germany is the only Axis Power encountered in Call of Duty 3.

Call of Duty: World at War[]

Campaign[]

The Axis Powers featured in the campaign are represented by the Imperial Japanese Army and Navy throughout the American campaign (Pacific Theater) and the German Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS throughout the Soviet campaign (Eastern Front).

Multiplayer[]

The Axis Powers are playable by the Wehrmacht faction in the eastern front maps against the Red Army and by the Imperial Japanese Army faction in the pacific theater maps against the Marine Raiders.

Nazi Zombies[]

The zombies of the maps Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt and Der Riese were SS Honor Guards using black SS uniforms.

The zombies of the map Shi No Numa were Imperial Japanese Army soldiers.

Edward Richtofen was a Major General in the German Army and Takeo Masaki was a Captain in the Imperial Japanese Army.

Call of Duty: Black Ops[]

Campaign[]

The Axis Powers make a brief return during the mission "Project Nova", which features remnants of the Wehrmacht lead by Friedrich Steiner fighting against a Soviet force lead by Nikita Dragovich in an attempt to secure the supply of Nova 6 and capture Steiner.

Zombies[]

The zombies of the maps Kino der Toten, Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt and Der Riese were SS Honor Guards using black SS uniforms.

The zombies of the map Shi No Numa were Imperial Japanese Army soldiers.

Edward Richtofen was a Major General in the German Army and Takeo Masaki was a Captain in the Imperial Japanese Army.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III[]

Campaign[]

The Axis Powers appear in the level Demon Within. The Player fights alongside the 101st Airborne Division against the German army in a simulated version of the Battle of the Bulge, during the Siege of Bastogne.

Zombies[]

The German Military appear zombified in the Zombies maps The Giant and Der Eisendrache. German soldiers are seen in the starting cutscene of Der Eisendrache transporting and defending Ultimis "Tank" Dempsey from capture by Primis characters.

The zombies of the map Zetsubou No Shima were Imperial Japanese Army soldiers and scientists. Imperial Japanese Navy sailors are seen capturing and interrogating Primis characters in the starting cutscene.

The zombies of the remastered versions of the maps Kino der Toten, Nacht der Untoten and Verrückt were SS Honor Guards using black SS uniforms.

The zombies of the remastered map Shi No Numa were Imperial Japanese Army soldiers.

The Ultimis version of Edward Richtofen was a Major General in the Wehrmacht and the Ultimis version of Takeo Masaki was a Captain in the Imperial Japanese Army.

Call of Duty: WWII[]

Campaign[]

Germany is the main Axis Power encountered in the campaign including Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe and Waffen-SS troops. Gestapo officers are also encountered in the level Liberation, guarding their headquarter in Paris.

Multiplayer[]

The Axis Powers appear in multiplayer as a playable faction, the two main armies represented are the German Army and the Royal Italian Army. The announcer is Heinrich, voiced by J. Paul Boehmer.

Nazi Zombies[]

In Nazi Zombies mode, the Ahnenerbe and the undead forces risen from the experiments made by Peter Straub become the main forces for the majority of the maps.

Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII[]

The Ultimis version of Edward Richtofen was a Major General in the Wehrmacht and the Ultimis version of Takeo Masaki was a Captain in the Imperial Japanese Army.

Call of Duty: Vanguard[]

Germany and Japan are the Axis Powers of Call of Duty: Vanguard.
