- "Pump-action energy shotgun. Hurls a deadly bolt of energy at enemies."
- — Description
The Banshii is a pump-action energy shotgun added to Call of Duty: Black Ops III in the June 14, 2016 update. It is obtained out of Supply Drops.
Multiplayer[]
Unlike normal shotguns, the Banshii shoots off a short beam of energy when fired that is similar to a slug. Due to this, it can serve more as a long-range energy cannon instead, since the energy blast can travel quite a distance. However, compared to other weapons, the projectile is not hitscan, so leading the target is usually mandatory for kills. Its projectile is always a one hit kill, but can't pass through walls. Using a Reflex or ELO sight is recommended for the most accurate kills.
The Banshii can also serve as a powerful anti-air Scorestreak weapon, but is almost useless against ground-based scorestreaks. It can one-shot UAVs, two-shot Counter UAVs, three-shot Wraiths and six-shot Motherships but it takes nearly fifty shots to destroy a Cerberus and does nearly no damage to any other ground-based scorestreaks.
Zombies[]
The Banshii is purchasable from the Mystery Box for 950 points in Revelations, where it comes with Quickdraw, Stock and a BOA 3 sight by default.
The Banshii does good damage. It also carries a decent amount of ammo. But its biggest weakness is its rate of fire, as well as only being able to penetrate through 1 zombie when shooting the unupgraded version. When Pack-a-Punched, it becomes the Slachdan of the Cailleach, doubling the magazine to 12 rounds and also increasing the rate of fire, and it increases the penetration. It was also previously shown in the poster of the map Gorod Krovi, carried by Takeo Masaki but not available in said map.

Trivia[]
- The Banshii's Pack-a-Punch name, Slachdan of the Cailleach, refers to the wand that the Cailleach from Gaelic mythology utilizes.
