Ste. Mere-Eglise is the third level in Call of Duty and Call of Duty Classic. The objectives of the level are to capture the town of Sainte-Mère-Église and destroy three Flakpanzer anti-aircraft guns.

Private Martin and Captain Foley's squad begins in a field east of the village of Sainte-Mère-Église. As they move across the field, the paratroopers come under heavy mortar and MG42 fire from houses on the outskirts of the village. Flakpanzer tank-mounted anti-aircraft guns are firing from the village, downing a C-47 Skytrain. They push forward, making their way to the houses, and come under fire from a German halftrack machine gun at the southern end of a railroad track. Martin and the others storm a train station on the side of the tracks and kill the halftrack gunner before moving on.
Turning west, the squad encounters Germans defending a set of houses across a road. While Foley and the others lay down covering fire, Martin attacks from the left flank and clears the rooms. Through the houses, the squad emerges into the backyard, with German paratroopers firing at them from behind stone walls and chicken coops. Martin, Foley, and the others push ahead, through a cemetery, while taking heavy MG42 fire from the church to the north.
Left of the church, Foley and Martin find the first Flakpanzer. It is protected by two MG42s, making a frontal assault impossible. Martin goes into the church and kills the gunners from a flanking position, before returning and blowing up the vehicle with an explosive charge. The next Flakpanzer is within the foundation of a house, protected by German infantry. While Foley and the paratroopers lay suppressing fire, Martin flanks the position from the right, clears it, and blows up the Flakpanzer. Pushing through a set of houses south towards the other side of the church, Foley's squad eliminates more German defenders. The last Flakpanzer is on the left corner of an intersection at the eastern edge of town. The Paratroopers clear the last position and Martin destroys the gun.
Foley then assembles the squad at the intersection, telling them that they need to hold the village until reinforced and that the fight for occupied Europe has just begun.

- This is the first level in the series where the player sees the recurring gag, dead cows.
- A paratrooper can be seen hanging on the church's spire. Possibly paying homage to Private John Steele, however he is wearing the 101st Airborne Division uniform but was in the 82nd Airborne Division.
- The lieutenant seen being dragged to cover during the opening of the mission is wearing a captain's helmet.
- One of the gravestones in the cemetery reads "B. ALLEN - Laissez-moi hors de cette boîte!" which in French means "Let me out of this box!" - another instance of the game's occasional dark humor.
- This level appeared in the official Call of Duty demo.
