In addition to the signature, cinematic Call of Duty® campaign missions, Modern Warfare® III introduces open combat missions that provide more player choice. There is no one-size-fits-all solution - it is your choice whether to take the stealthy approach or go loud taking on any and all foes."
— Battle.net Description[1]

Carry Forward[]

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III features a system called Carry Forward. The term “Carry Forward” simply refers to content currently available to players in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 (such as weapons and cosmetic content, including Bundles, Operators, and other rewards and unlocks from the game), and how much of it will be accessible in Modern Warfare III, what includes:

Caveats:

  • If Modern Warfare III doesn’t have some vehicle, or a specific piece of Tactical or Lethal Equipment in any game modes, any skins that the player unlocked for these items in Modern Warfare II won’t be in Modern Warfare III. In addition, War Tracks (music) is not carry forward from Modern Warfare II to Modern Warfare III.
  • There is no “Carry Back” (from Modern Warfare III to Modern Warfare II).

Shared Progression:

  • Players can progress level and challenges of the weapons, such as Weapon Camouflage challenges, and Calling Cards of Modern Warfare II in Modern Warfare III and also in any of the two games any time.
