From major policy changes to minor War Room discussions, the Call of Duty Wiki operates by consensus. This method of settlement is different from a "majority rules" system; in a consensus, the best possible resolution that the two (or more) viewpoints can achieve at the time is taken. All issues must be mediated by an administrator, who will determine what the consensus is by objectively considering points made by both sides of the argument. In order for a consensus to be decided upon, a discussion must run its due course (typically two weeks). In the event that a consensus cannot be reached in a voting process, such as a request for adminship, a rough consensus of 70% of the votes should be used to determine the outcome. To calculate a rough consensus, the number of support votes is divided by the total number of votes. Only support and oppose votes are counted in the total.
