Shortcut:
COD:TEMPLATE
COD:T

There are many templates in use in Call of Duty Wiki and these are only subset, representing the most important and commonly used ones. If you feel that a template belongs on this page, do not hesitate to add it.

  • Category:Templates should list all templates in the wiki, categorized into the various subcategories.
  • The Template namespace always has all templates in the wiki, unsorted.

What are templates?[]

Wiki templates provide a means to insert the same content over and over in different (or the same) pages. This saves editors the hassle of duplicating the same text again and again, and also helps ensure consistency.

Templates are generally shown with the format required to use the template. Clicking the template name takes you to the template's page, where you can see what it looks like and how it is used.

Detailed instructions on the usage of each template should exist either on the template page, or the template's talk page.

Article management templates[]

Yelling Sergeant
The Sergeant says, "This article needs more content, so stop messing around and add to it right now!"
Please expand the article as well as you can!

When a page has little or no useful information, then it is likely a stub. This template will signify that an article is too short in length and should be greatly expanded upon. It may be removed once the page is beyond stub length. This, unlike the rest in this category of templates, is placed at the bottom of the page.
War pig
One of our forward unit pages is pinned down and needs our expansion!
It is requested that this article, or a section of this article, needs to be expanded.
Add to the discussion on what needs to be improved, or start your own discussion, on the talk page.

If a page still needs more information in certain parts, then it is in need of expansion. Any article that is beyond the length of a stub and is in need of more information should have this template placed on the page. It may be removed when the page has been expanded upon.
John F. Kennedy Black Ops
We are in grave danger from the spoilers. Our freedom—our very way of life—is at risk.
This article contains spoilers for an upcoming or recently-released product.
Read at your own risk!

Any page that contains spoilers on a recently released or soon to be released product in its context should have this template in the article as a warning to the reader.

It's been too long, sources. We must make up for lost time.
This article, or a section of this article, is in need of citations.
Please add proper references to the article's text or discuss on the talk page where other editors got the information from.

When new or questionable information is added to articles, it is usually backed up by a source. If an article is in need of sources for certain information, add this template to the page. It may be removed when proper citations have been provided.
GazFNG
You know the drill; go to station one and fix the article.
This article, or a section of this article, needs to be cleaned up to conform to a higher standard of quality.
Please take a look at the Manual of Style in order to refine this article. You may also discuss improvements on the talk page.

A disambiguation page is used when there are several articles that fall under the same name (eg. War Pig is a disambiguation page for War Pig (level) and War Pig (tank)). This template is to remain indefinitely on the disambiguation page along with the disambiguation links to prevent confusion.
[source needed]
Unlike {{source}}, this template can be used next to sentences or phrases that are in need of a source. Only when an article has multiple instances of this template should {{source}} be used instead.

==Vandalism==

Hi. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions here, at least one of your recent edits did not appear to be constructive, and has been reverted. If you continue to vandalize any pages, you will receive a block for an appropriate amount of time. As such, please refrain from doing so. Thanks.

Clear[]

{{clr}}, plus {{clrl}} and {{clrr}}

  • This template is used to reduce the amount of non-wikicode used on pages, replacing the code <br style="clear:both;" />. Its use should generally be avoided.
  • You can use {{clr}} instead of the HTML tag that clears space below things like images, pictures and tables, so the following stuff doesn't begin until the bottom of the image, picture or table box.
  • You can also use {{clrl}} or {{clrr}} to clear only left or right floats.

Language[]

Warning: There is language on this page that some readers may consider offensive.

  • This template is used at the top of a page, when that page contains possibly offensive information, including cussing.

{{language}}

Right-aligned Table of Contents[]

{{tocright}}

  • This template floats the table of contents (toc) on the right. It should only be used when absolutely necessary, to keep consistent design.

Sandbox[]

{{sandbox}}

T is for template[]

{{t|<template>}}

  • This template allows you to show example template code (with a link to the templates) without using the template itself. It is used extensively on this page.
