About Ask A Veteran

If you have questions about AAV, ask them here.

How do you provide proof that you are experienced? ? KillerKing17 13:42, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

It's fairly easy to tell if a person is bull-shitting or lying about how good they are, and a simple discussion about weapon dynamics is enough to tell if you're "for real" or not. Warpig3|1|2 13:44, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Can we already start writing guides? If so, do they have to be about weapons or can they also be about maps? Also, in which format? In one similar to ALN's blog about the MG4? Commander W567123danielWanna Talk?|My Duty|Wassup? 13:56, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

How-to guides, tips on what they're best used as, but try to stay as neutral as possible, refer to the weapon's article, and talk about good tactics. Warpig3|1|2 14:06, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

If you have proposals, place them in the appropriate section.

Requests for Veteran or Experienced listing

Although it is difficult to show you are experienced, please cite your experience, for veteran listing, more tangible proof must be provided.

W567123daniel - Experienced

I hereby nominate myself for the Experienced position. I have played a lot, know a lot about tactics and each individual weapon, as I have used all of them before, including the F2000 and Model 1887. I will not nominate myself as a veteran because I know very little about bullet damage over range, multipliers, etc. I am 4th Prestige, about to get 5th, and, most of the times, I have the top scores, be it TDM, S&D or HQ. Commander W567123danielWanna Talk?|My Duty|Wassup? 13:42, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

I'll add you, I've talked to you before and you seem to know your stuff. Warpig3|1|2 13:45, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

AdvancedRookie - Veteran

I nominate myself for Experienced position. I have played a lot of Call of Duty and studied it well. One of my main points I would like to put forward would be the fact that as a PC player, I have access to game files within the game. I am also able to use cheats such as noclip which can provide some useful information. On WaW I am 9th Prestige 49th. On MW2 I am nearing the end of my first prestige, however I would of been a much higher rank if my computer did not keep playing up. But that don't let that fool you, it's back up and running now. AdvancedRookie 19:35, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Oh yeah just thought I mention, I have completed Cod4, Cod WAW and MW2 on Veteran. I have found all death cards and intel. On Waw Multiplayer I am actually 10th Prestige lvl65 on one account of mine. It would be nice to become a Veteran soon, as I see the veteran section lacks a PC player. I am also very adept at getting screen shots which would help with articles.AdvancedRookie 17:01, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

Doc.Richtofen - Experienced, possibly Veteran

I hereby nominate myself for Experienced position with the possibility of Veteran. I am Third Prestige Rank 45 on World at War, Second Prestige Rank 40 on Modern Warfare 2. I have used all weapons in both the games previously mentioned. I am proficient at the Single Player, Co-Op and Multiplayer for both games. Unless I have a rare bad game, I am usually the top scorer on my team. I have played every thing there is too play in all the games I have on the PS3 although I have limited knowledge of the first Modern Warfare and I own a PS2 edition of Call of Duty 3. 30px Doc. Richtofen 19:38, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Rambo362- Experienced

I nominate myself for Experienced position. I know a lot of tactics in WAW and MW2 and I'm 2nd prestiege in both games. In WAW, I know a lot about Nazi Zombies and Multiplayer. In MW2, I have a good understanding of Campaign and multiplayer. I have used all weapons in both games mentioned above and I know where some good "out of the way" sniper spots are in said games. I also can provide information on some earlier or lesser known games, such as the original Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2: The Big Red One, should it be necessary. Rambo362 20:02, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Codfan- Experienced

I nominate myself for the experienced position because I've played CoD 4, WaW, and MW2 (less so CoD 4). Even though I haven't played much of CoD 4 and WaW as much as MW2, I still know about the game mechanics in each game. In MW2, I have an enormous amount of multiplayer experience (14+ days). And to top my experience, I'm almost going on 8th prestige LEGIT (7th prestige lvl 64 currently). I also have a positive K/D and have used every gun in the game (some more sparingly) but I know what every weapon does. I also know some good spots in the multiplayer maps. I also know alot of TEAM tactics (emphasis on team, not solo) for every map and game mode (although I play quite a bit of free-for-all also.) Although I'm mostly a weapons guy, I can provide more knowledge on multiplayer maps, tactics if necessary. NOTE: I've played CoD 4 and WaW mostly on the Wii, a lot of my experience is on my PS3 on MW2. add ac2awesome on PSN if you don't believe what I have said. CodfanCodfan 20:20, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Callofduty4 - Veteran (will accept Experienced)

I nominate myself for veteran position - I know a lot about game dynamics and how each individual weapon works. I can provide valuable information on any weapon you ask. I will spend time on this project if I earn a position, using blogs like the MG4 guide (though I will still spend time editing the mainspace and whatnot). I've accumulated 15 days of multiplayer playtime on Modern Warfare 2, 7 days on World at War, and 10 on Modern Warfare. I can also provide help with CoD2 weapons. I have the ability to write intelligently and informatively. Thanks.  FANMADE_Animated_Derpy_Hooves_desktop_ponies_sprite.gif Sig1.png Sig2.png  20:11, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Cpl. Dunn - Experienced

I nominate myself for the experienced position, because I know quite a bit about the more recent Call of Duty games. I can provide some information on weapons or missions from the more recent Call of Duty's. In MW2, I have accumulated a playing time of 9 days, on CoD4, a playing time of 6 days. I have also played and beat WaW, but not on my console so I do not know how long I have played it. I have also beaten CoD2: Big Red One, although it's been over a year since I last played it. I do not have Xbox Live, but I have still played quite a bit of CoD. I can also provide strategies for maps that have worked for me, or ones that I have heard of. Cpl. Dunn(Talk)

Nick42294 - Veteran

I accidentally just edited my name without knowing i had to be nominated. feel free to remove it, although i feel as if i deserve it, you can test me if you would like. and before i say anything else i would like to just say that my GT for xbox is umodCUZimGOD422, and my MW2 playing time and everything is on there. but my 10th prestige CoD 4 and 1st prestige WaW account got hacked about a year ago.. =(, although i re-completed all of the achievements for CoD 4. i would also like to state that i have all achievements for CoD 4 and all achievements for MW2, without help on spec ops except for the ones that require 2 people. I had all of them for waW (map pack and prestige achievements not included) before that account got hacked and never redid them.

Hax 217 - Veteran (Nintendo DS related only)

I request the position of veteran, though only on NDS related topics. I own every NDS CoD game and have completed everyone of them to 100%. I have completed all challenges and have received all awards (in certain games) and am nearing 4000 multiplayer kills in MW:M. In multiplayer for WaW and MW:M, I have played an estimated 2 days for each game, SP and MP included. I am able to provide hints and/or assistance in multiplayer and singleplayer.  Hax 217    talk-page

Poketape - Experienced

I request to be put in the experienced category. I own all of the Call of Duty games on Xbox 360. I understand the game well and can give detailed information on most subjects. I've completed the campaign in all of the games and I am level 70 in CoD 4-6. I also own every map pack for those games. 30pxPoketape Talk30px 03:33, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

Foxtrot12 - Experienced

I request to be put in Experienced. I am an average online player in second prestige sometimes I get lucky and look like MLG some times I do not. I will admit I have a negative k/d ratio but I really don't care to much for it and I quit most games due to things like lagswitches, grenade spam, and ect. . However I am good at making class layouts and giving map strategies I can give detailed information on pretty much anything and plus I can greatly contribute to campaign and Spec Ops walkthroughs. In CoD4 I have all achievements, In CoD WaW I have over 1000 gamerscore and have beaten on veteran, and in MW2 I have all achievements and hours of campaign experience as well as Spec Ops I have 'boosted' multiple friends in Spec Ops and know how beat every op in multiple ways. (Am willing to persoanlly go on Xbox live to help with Spec Ops and other related achievements)Foxtrot12 04:02, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

SkullRod - Experienced

I request to be put in the Experienced category. I have played Call of Duty 4 on the PS3 for almost a year now. I've unlocked almost all of the achievements. I play Team Deathmatch and can provide helpful tactics or suggestions to other players for this game mode especially. I can also give players good class-lay-outs for each map in the game. I've grown very experienced with this game's multiplayer and I can provide helpful tips for Free-For-All, Team Deathmatch, and Old School mode. SkullRod Talk | Edits

Scottie theNerd - Veteran

I nominate myself for Veteran status. I have played every numbered COD game and have written weapon guides for several games on GameFAQs. I coached two different teams in the Australian GameArena COD:UO ladder and finished in the top 3 in consecutive seasons, specialising in Capture the Flag. Recently, I completed both MW2 Campaign and Spec Ops exclusively on Veteran difficulty, though I have limited game time on multiplayer, having reached Prestige 1 within a week of release but haven't played since. --Scottie theNerd 11:31, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

The-Dreamcaster - Experienced

As a few other members can testify, (Callofduty4, ScotlandTheBest) I have just over 26 days gametime put into Modern Warfare 2 and have been 10th prestige Level 70 for 6 days of that. I've got considerable experience with EVERY weapons, with almost every 500 kill title obtained and over 5,000 games played, on every mode. I know all the maps very well and I can explain my tactics used for each map throughly. While not owning WaW, I did own CoD4 and spent 6 days of gametime playing that, but only being 2nd Prestige. I do however know the maps and weapons fairly well and still retain much of the knowledge. I also have the MW2 Platinum trophy and I am willing to share my experiences with anyone who needs them. I would like to believe my writing style is legible and provides clear meaning to all and can cater for different age groups. Fairly recently, I doubled the length of the SitRep and Scrambler page with infomation all new and relevants to the perks. While the majority of my knowledge is stemmed from MW2, this is the most current iteration of the game. The-Dreamcaster 14:11, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

ScotlandTheBest - Experienced

Similar to Dreamcaster, I am 10th prestige, half-way to level 70 at the present moment, having played 20-odd days and consider myself a decent player. Dreamcaster and Cod4 can both vouch for my gametime and level. I can provide information on the most efficient areas of maps worth controlling, as I play Hardcore HQ, Hardcore S&D, as well as Free-For-All occasionally. I also can help with the most useful custom-class setups for these gametypes, as well as how to deal with incidents which can be found in these game modes (boosting, riot shield [especially in SD]). I can help players who struggle to maintain a good K/D while also playing the objectives. I can also help with maps, and weapons, from World at War, having played 10 days of that, while prestiging to the 3rd prestige. - File:Prestige10sigstb.jpg StB Flag 15:30, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

Squelliot - Experienced

I have a large database of multiplayer tactics, I've also got a large quanity of singleplayer stuff and I'm usually the player at the top of the scoreboard, I'm good with CO-OP modes and KD Is pretty high. My best game is ground war and domination. I can't give you a good score, but I can give you the know how to acquire it, and that my friend is worth more then a whole game of steel :D. 30pxSquelliot Talk Edits. 16:11, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

Gman111-Experienced

I would say i am more experienced in the multiplayer department on Cod 4,5,6.Gman111 17:28, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

I am prestige 4 level 70,have had 7 nukes, can play hardcore and core (Ask STB :) ), decent class setups and an overall experienced player in cod 4, 5 and 6.Gman111 07:31, June 18, 2010 (UTC)

Experienced - TheManOfIron

I think that I should be able to join the Experienced side of the team, due to the fact that I know A LOT about the guns. My best tactic is run down the middle of the map hoping to get one kill before I die, but the guns is a LARGE part of my knowledge in this game. I know about mis-allinged iron sights, reload time, hit markers, base damage, ect. I know much about the guns in this game, and I could answer just about any question. --TMOI {Reply} 21:07, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

Proposed Guides

For proposed guides, place it as a topic for discussion here and organize the authoring of it on a Forum Subpage.

M4A1

This is the first assault rifle available in the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, so I figure it would be a great starting point for a guide, we could outline strengths and weaknesses, and tactics playing on those strengths and when used with the different attachments, as well as recommended secondary weapons. Who would like to help out, and where should we actually put the guides? I was thinking that we could put them on a weapon subpage(this one might be M4A1/Guide). Warpig3|1|2 13:20, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

Agreed. The M4A1 is a good all around assualt rifle that's used extensively. Rambo362 20:43, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

I would be glad to contribute! (see specialties) --TMOI {Reply} 06:53, June 18, 2010 (UTC)

We should move this to a Call of Duty Wiki: space. 30px Doc. Richtofen 19:30, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

I agree. However, we should wait a while to see where this goes.   Hax 217    talk-page  19:45, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
I'll move it. <Darthkenobi0><Talk>

Request

Do you think you could link it up with my help group? It would mean that this group would offer advice on the game and wiki. http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/User:AdvancedRookie/Call_of_Duty_Wiki_Help_OfficersAdvancedRookie 20:05, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Alright, well your group is more closely related to the New User Welcomers than Ask A Veteran. Why don't you request official status as a project group, and we could start a sort of partnership in which the NUWs and Help Officers work with Ask A Veteran, instead offering advice on the wiki rather than the actual games?
