Castro's Human Shield, (sometimes referred to as "Castro's Mistress") is a minor character in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
When she and Castro's double are found in Carlos' old plantation, the double takes her as a human shield. The player can either choose to try and spare her by going for the double's head, or the player can simply shoot through her. If she lives through the assassination, she will pick up a KS-23 from the bed and try to kill Woods and Mason. At which point, she is either killed by Woods or the player, depending on who fires first.
Trivia
- Her gown is rendered separately from her body. This can be seen via clipping through her after she is dead (by going prone). This is different from all other NPCs, who have their bodies rendered with their clothes as their skin, rather than separately. This can also be seen on the console versions by going prone and crawling into her. This suggests that the developers might have considered to have her naked and changed it at the last minute.
- She cannot be gibbed.
- She is the first enemy of the Call of Duty series to be a woman.
- The Call of Duty: Black Ops official game guide refers to her as a prostitute.
