Biography[]

"Forged in the counterculture revolution, Tommy Chong and Cheech Marin turned cultural friction into comedic success. Facing systemic barriers with humor and cannabis, the duo exploited adversity to bring underground voices into the mainstream. Chong's ingenuity and Marin's heritage primed them for fame, while their comedic chemistry made them icons. Their albums and films exposed injustice with subversive joy, pioneering stoner comedy and becoming symbols of irreverent truth.
Marin was born in 1946 to Mexican immigrant parents in South Central Los Angeles. Facing racism and discrimination, he forged an identity through Chicano culture. While studying English, Marin nurtured his passion for performance. When Marin met Chong in Vancouver in the late 1960s, their instant chemistry was undeniable.

Trivia[]

  • On April 10th, 2024, the Cheech & Chong bundle was made available for purchase via the Daily Login Rewards page, but it was quickly pulled afterwards.
  • The "Double Doobie" death effect in the Cheech & Chong bundle turns enemies into a giant cannabis joint with Cheech and Chong's heads at the end. This is a reference to the poster of Cheech and Chong's first movie, Up in Smoke.
