"Tick-Tock! You're running out of time!"
— The Chemist

Abu Nassar, also known as The Chemist, is a Commander featured in the DMZ mode of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.

Biography[]

"They do not understand me. They do not understand what this can do. They think this is a game, but it is not. I am so close to understanding how it expands. How it spreads."
— Chemist 2: Journal DMZ Intel

Purportedly once a scientist working from the Zaya Observatory, Abu Nassar became obsessed with the radiation clouds leaking from underneath Al-Mazrah - eventually seeking funding from Al-Qatala to further his research. After being denied formal authorization for further experimentation, Nassar went rogue, recruiting a group of soldiers and entering the gas himself.

Lacking test subjects, Nassar would opt to administer micro doses of the substance to himself while continuing his experiments. Newly reinforced by an unknown group, Nassar and his loyal followers and guards moved out directly into the anomalous gas to conduct new research.

Contractors from White Lotus would later discover that the Chemist left a sample of Russian gas in Vondel, which they would use as key evidence linking the gas to the construction of the Koschei Complex.

Overview[]

The Chemist can be found inside the radiation zone in Al Mazrah, which is indicated by a large yellow circle with a magenta radiation symbol on the TacMap. He can typically be found patrolling close to the center of the zone, and can be distinguished by his bright yellow biohazard suit.

Compared to the rest of the Agents found within the zone, the Chemist has much higher armor, requiring greater effort than other Agents to be killed. While engaged in a firefight, he will occasionally drop smoke grenades in an attempt to outmaneuver and confuse the player.

Upon killing the Chemist, he will drop a Gas Mask, Medic Plate Carrier, an Advanced UAV, the "Gas Sample" Intel, Chemist's Acid, some ammo and the Hazardous blueprint for the M13B assault rifle. Successfully extracting with the Chemist's weapon at an extraction point will unlock the base M13B for the player's use.
