Clan Wars

Clan Wars is a game mode, and an integral part of the Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Multiplayer experience. It offers a deeper Clans experience by enlisting players into a larger conflict where any Clan Member, regardless of skill level, can contribute to the Clan War simply by participating. Players can also join a Clan with players on all platforms, and level-up their Clan to earn exclusive unlocks and Multiplayer XP bonuses.

Clans also appear in Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Mobile where they have similar functions to its version from Ghosts and Advanced Warfare, however, now is all done through the mainline title.

Overview

CoD Clan App

In Clan Wars, a Clan is pitted against seven other evenly matched Clans to battle for possession of key locations on the Clan Wars map over a period of time. To access the Clan Wars map, one must have the Clan App installed on their mobile device. The app can be installed on iPad and Windows 8 tablets.

Call of Duty: Ghosts

The locations on the map are tied to specific Multiplayer modes in Call of Duty: Ghosts. For example, the Aqueduct location on the Clan Wars map is tied to the Team Deathmatch mode in Call of Duty: Ghosts Multiplayer. Each time a Clan wins a Multiplayer match in Team Deathmatch, the Clan gets a Capture Point for the Aqueduct location.

There are multiple locations on the Clan Wars map, tied to other Multiplayer game modes in Ghosts, and the Clan gets more Capture Points for securing either the Aqueduct or other locations and holding them down over time. The Clan with the most Capture Points at the end of the period wins the Clan War.

At the end of a Clan War, the top three ranking Clans will earn rewards, with the winning Clan receiving the most.

Brackets

Clan Brackets is a roster lock for Clans that are split into groups based on the number of members the Clan has. Players will be grouped into a division, from Bronze to Platinum, and will face teams of the same division. Clans are evaluated based on their recent performance in recent matches of Multiplayer. The more active a Clan, the higher division the Clan will be put into.

Roster Lock

In order for Clans to be bracketed correctly, 24 hours before the start of a Clan War, a count of the number of members in every Clan is commenced, locking the Roster. This lock number is the limit of members the Clan can have contributing wins in the Clan War division.

The Roster Lock does not prevent Clans from recruiting new members, but additional members beyond the lock number will not contribute towards that Clan's wins.

There is one exception to this rule however. Once a Roster Lock is set in the bracket, the highest amount of members a Clan has in the entire bracket becomes unanimous among all Clans in the bracket. This means if one Clan has 34 members once the Roster is locked, and the highest amount is 39, that Clan can recruit 5 more members to reach the max Roster possible.

Call of Duty: Mobile

Clan Wars return in Call of Duty: Mobile. About 6 clans are matched up with each other to capture nodes. These nodes award points for doing objectives in multiplayer or Battle Royale game modes. The clan who earns the most points captures the node. By the end of the season, the clan with the most captured nodes gains clan points which can be spent on rewards in the clan shop. This includes weapons skins as well as skins for Firebreak, Ronin, Farah and Iskra.

Call of Duty: Vanguard

In Call of Duty: Vanguard, Clan Wars have become Clan Challenges where Clans need to complete challenges to earn rewards. There is also a unified progression system where Clans can rank-up and earn exclusive Frames to equip to their Calling Cards.

Clan Challenges

Clan Challenges would occur for a Clan over the span of 6 days. Players were tasked with completing Challenges with their Clan to earn exclusive limited-time rewards.

The First Clan Challenge occurred between May 31st and June 5th, 2022. Players were tasked with getting headshots.

• Clan Wars was originally developed by Neversoft for NX1 under the name "The Emergent War".
