The Cotardists are a terrorist organization and enemy faction in Call of Duty: Black Ops III. They appear in the level New World.

Overview[]

Campaign[]

In the campaign, the Cotardists are shown to be well armed, possessing a surprisingly large number of militants. They have access to a variety of weapons and explosives, as well as a number of robots and unmanned weapons systems. They were capable of operating in a major metropolitan area by utilising out-of-the-way locations such as abandoned steel mills and old subway tunnels. Their motivations for attacking Coalescence on December 12th, 2054 remains unknown. Xavier Hirtzel is one of their members and is their contact inside Coalescence Corporation.

Nightmares[]

In Nightmares, the Cotardists are a terrorist organization that worship the undead. Their motivation for blowing up the train is to spread Virus 61-15 throughout Downtown Zurich in order to start an undead outbreak. The Player thwarted their efforts and Zurich was saved from suffering an undead outbreak. Though as fate would have it, it was all for nothing.
