Cows are featured as a running gag throughout the Call of Duty series, especially in some of the earlier Infinity Ward games in the series with levels that take place in Normandy. This prompted the developers of Infinity Ward to jokingly put "No cows were harmed in the making of this game" in the credits of the first two games.
Primarily seen in games made by Infinity Ward, they are featured extensively in games such as Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2Edit
Call of Duty: Black OpsEdit
Cows (also known as Bulls) appear in Dead Ops Arcade as animals who walk across the map in single file lines. Anything that touches a cow will get trampled. They can only be killed by explosives. Glowing cows give the player a large amount of treasure when killed.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3Edit
A dead cow is featured in the level "Back on the Grid", right in front of the watchtower where the player is on overwatch and the map Lookout tangled up in barbed wire by the Spetsnaz spawn. Dead cows are also seen on the Face Off map Vortex.
Call of Duty: GhostsEdit
Call of Duty: Ghosts features cows (not real) on the map Stonehaven in a field outside the map near the Ghosts spawn. To see the cows, go to the A bomb building, second floor, and then look. They are visible without a sniper rifle.
Call of Duty: Modern WarfareEdit
A dead cow is featured in the multiplayer map Arklov Peak.
