Critical Countdown was an event featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 available between May 29th and June 26th, 2024 during Season Four of Modern Warfare III.
Overview[]
During the event, players were tasked with killing enemy operatives in Multiplayer or Warzone, or killing Zombies and Mercenaries in the Operation Deadbolt. A DNA Sample will drop after every kill.
The DNA Samples were divided into four categories, Ade, Cyto, Thy, and Gua. At the start of the event, only the Ade category and the first reward of the Cyto category were available. On June 5th, the second Cyto reward became available as well as the first Thy reward. On June 12th, the third Cyto reward became available as well as the second Thy reward and first Gua reward. On June 19th, all rewards became available.
DNA Samples Drop[]
The number of DNA Samples per drop varied between modes and enemies.
In Multiplayer, by June 19th, the DNA Samples for each drop were 27 per Operator killed.
In Operation Deadbolt, the DNA Samples for each drop were originally as follows: 2 for Zombies, 4 for Hellhounds, and 6 for Special Zombies and Mercenaries. An update on June 4th allows the DNA Samples to be collectable in Dark Aether Rifts, and on June 5th, the number of DNA Samples was increased to 5, 11, and 17 respectively. On June 12th, the number of DNA Samples was increased to 8, 16, and 24 respectively. On June 19th, the number of DNA Samples was increased to 9, 19, and 28 respectively.
Rewards[]
Each category featured different rewards, with 6 rewards for a total of 12500 Ade DNA Samples, 4 rewards for a total of 12500 Cyto DNA Samples, 3 rewards for a total of 9350 Thy DNA Samples, and 2 rewards for a total of 6250 Gua DNA Samples.
