During development of Call of Duty games, many things are cut during the process of development. These changes can range from weapons and characters to entire campaign missions and features.

Campaign[]

Mission Image Description
Tulsa Cut single-player mission.
Downtown LA Another motorcycle level; also a planned multiplayer map.
International Space Station A mission that was scrapped in favor of the mission Second Sun.
Roadkill Game files and concept art remain.

AK-74u AK-74u menu icon CoD4 Full-auto Submachine Gun. Icon and texture sheet remains.
L85 L85 HUD MW2 Full-auto Assault Rifle. Its model was modified and then turned into the L86 LSW later in development. The L86 LSW's pickup icon still depicts an L85 rifle.
G3 G3 menu icon MW2 Semi-auto Assault Rifle. Icon and texture sheet remains.
Remington 870 MCS Pump-action Shotgun. Icon and texture sheet remains.

Gamemodes[]

  • Die Hard - Basic game, but every player is given a final stand, and players in final stand are marked in green on the minimap.
  • Arms Race - Only sound files remain.
  • VIP - Similar to Capture the Flag, but a player is selected randomly to be protected by their teammates.
  • Defcon - Each one of the five defcons changes the player and the game, and are added on until Defcon 1 is reached.
  • Arena - Team Deathmatch but all players only have one life. When there is one player alive on each team left, a flag spawns and teams must control it.
  • Global Thermonuclear War - Teams have to guard the bomb until it goes off and a nuke ends the game.
  • One Flag Capture the Flag - Similar to Capture the Flag but instead with only one flag.

Perks[]

  • Blackbox - Longer killstreak duration.
  • Siege - Immobile but greater accuracy.
  • Amplify - Hear enemy footsteps louder.
  • Freerunner - Mantle obstacles faster.
  • Dive - Jump to dodge bullets.
  • Spy Game - No name above the player or red crosshair when targeted.
  • Burst Fire - Weapons fire three-round bursts.
  • Improved Iron Lungs - Even longer breath when holding steady.
  • Feign Death - The player can fake a death.
  • Offhand - Use equipment in Final Stand.
  • Saboteur - Complete objectives quicker.
  • Explosive Bullets - Bullets explode on impact.
  • Free Fall - No fall damage.
  • Thermal Vision - Enemies appear white hot.
  • Steel Nerves - Improved marksmanship.
  • Rear-view - Minimap is replaced with rear-view.
  • Challenger - Extra experience points but easy death.
  • EMP Grenades x3 - Increase capacity for EMP Grenades.
  • Primary Stand - Weapon of choice in Final Stand.
  • Flash Grenades x3 - Increase capacity for Flash Grenades.
  • C4death - Pulls out C4 before death.
  • Shellshock - Riot Shield on player's back.

  • L-Train - A image remains of an interactive train meant for a multiplayer map. A kill icon remains.
