"Don't worry, I've brought some friends."
John Price referring to the resistance.

The Czech Resistance is an allied faction that appeared in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 campaign. Given its identity, this faction was formed when the Ultranationalist government under Makarov's influence switched tactics to conquer Europe, especially the Czech Republic. The Resistance was formed mostly of the country's local civilians, who attempt to fight back and repel the Russian invasion, but they take heavy losses against Russia's vehicles and from their lack of anti-vehicle weapons.

The resistance helped Task Force 141 and Loyalists to hunt Makarov in their country. They were first encountered in the mission "Eye of The Storm", where they help badly wounded civilians and resistance members. They helped Price, Yuri and Soap (who was badly injured) by defending them from Ultranationalist attack during "Blood Brothers".

They also appear as civilians in the Spec Ops mission Resistance Movement.

Trivia

  • Resistance members have mostly typical Czech names and surnames, but few of them have German, or even Polish ones, which is very common for Czechs.
  • This faction is the first resistance faction in the Modern Warfare series.
  • This is the first faction in the Modern Warfare series to feature a female randomly generated NPC that can be killed, and strangely, they have no name. They are just viewed as civilians, although they wear combat gear, and are seen tending to help injured Resistance members, meaning they are probably medics.
  • The Resistance members don't have a Czech English accent. They all have Russian accents, and they speak in Russian sometimes but mostly in Czech.
  • Since the resistance mainly consists of civilians, they are untrained. It explains why a large group of them aimlessly charge directly at a tank in a certain point in Eye of the Storm in which Soap yells to the player, "Tank! Get to cover!"
  • As mentioned above, it is still strange why the group charged at the tank since it's common sense not to charge at a tank, especially as the group weren't visibly holding RPG-7s.
