Trivia[]
- In the Dark Water Level Gameplay video, the mission is dated October 22nd.
- The intro cinematic of the mission uses the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's Task Force 141 emblem.
- The oil rig and the ship are loose references to "The Only Easy Day... Was Yesterday" from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and "Crew Expendable" from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare respectively.
- All Shadow Company contractors on the Oil Rig use either a suppressed PDSW 528, a suppressed Lachmann-556, or a suppressed VEL 46 as a primary weapon. The PDSW 528 and Lachmann-556 can be obtained through a scripted death and one of the Shadows getting killed by Al-Qatala soldiers, while the VEL 46 cannot be obtained.
- In the official gameplay teaser starring this mission, Soap's loadout originally owned a suppressed TAQ-56 before being replaced with the FTac Recon.
- The thumbnail for the teaser also shows the Shadow Company contractors in the boat section of the mission wearing caps. In the final game, they wear helmets with night vision goggles.
- The model for the Shadow Company contractor standing next to Graves in the scene where both he and Graves use the line launcher to create paths for the Alpha Team to hook up the Oil Rig changes when the scene switches to another frame. This change does not occur if the contractor's model is the Militant operator skin.
