"Captain, we salvaged the area. Apart from some medical supplies, all we found were a couple of rifles and several Panzerfausts, which are woefully inaccurate."
— Lt. Davis at the beginning of Pegasus Bridge-Day

Lieutenant Davis was a British officer who served as a paratrooper in the 6th Airborne Division during World War II. He was featured in Call of Duty in the campaign mission "Pegasus Day".

Biography[]

Lieutenant Davis was assigned to the 13th (Lancashire) Parachute Battalion of the 6th Airborne Division at the time of Operation Tonga. On 5 June, Davis parachuted into Normandy over Ranville with the mission of securing the area around the bridges over the Caen Canal and Orne River. Davis, as well as a small detachment of the 13th, reinforced Captain Price and Sergeant Evan's position at Pegasus Bridge around 0800 Hours on 6 June. At 1230 Hours after a brief artillery barrage which killed several British soldiers, Davis took part in the defense of the bridge as second-in-command along with the Price and Evans until relieved by reinforcements from the 7th Parachute Battalion.

By the end of the day, British airborne elements would be entirely relieved by the 1st Commando Brigade and the 185th Infantry Brigade which had landed on Sword Beach that morning.

Trivia[]
