De Leeuw is one of the men in the Dutch Resistance group that saved James Doyle after the latter's B-17 Flying Fortress had been shot down over the Netherlands, their leader being Major Gerald Ingram (it is unclear whether Ingram is already a commanding officer of the SAS by the time of this mission). After Doyle joins their group, they continue their raid and succeed in blowing up a train bridge, vital to the German war effort.
