Biography[]
Rampage is first seen in the comics working with Foxtrot in the Congo Basin to uncover intelligence on the People's Covenant. As they infiltrate the base camp, she discovers a scientist whom she recognizes. After neutralizing all of the guards, Rampage captures the man and binds him to a chair. As the man taunts them about their actions, Rampage tells him she's aware of what the man and his cronies did with her cousin, having used him as a guinea pig and dumped his body in a parking lot.
After rigging the place to blow, they escape, with Prophet and Kreuger in pursuit. The pair soon tread through the jungle, where Rampage parts ways with Foxtrot and is never seen again.
A long time later, Rampage is in Detroit, Michigan, where she has arranged to meet with Alias. As they arrive, Rampage tells them that she has picked a hell of a day to visit, as there is a mass protest taking place outside their building in front of Atlas Corporation's corporate HQ. She introduces Alias to Foxtrot, who she had worked with in the Congo, and informs her that she was the one who insisted they meet after Foxtrot learned that Alias was trying to track down the former UAC who were in New Vision City.
During this time, Rampage is also uneasy about Ether being among the group, which she feels compromises their position. She wants to know why Ether is present with them instead of 'rotting in some cell in the Hague'. Ether explains that while she understands her history with Atlas, she informs her that the Atlas she knew is gone, and what has replaced it is far worse. Unconvinced, Rampage retorts that 'the Atlas she knew' used people like guinea pigs and dumped them like garbage when they were done--something that happened on Ether's watch, so she doesn't buy her change of heart, despite Ether's reassurance.
Rampage iterates that the situation outside is close to boiling over, and they're barely keeping a lid on it as it is. When Ether asks what makes this one any different, as there are Atlas protests blowing up all over, Rampage responds that this one came out of nowhere; they had been monitoring social feeds, targeting disinformation, but in the last week they've seen fake accounts stoking people's anger, with more of them popping up faster than they can manage. Alias grimly states that this is the work of the Iron Will.
Rampage asks what the Iron Will is, and Alias tells that it's the Atlas Corporation artificial intelligence. Rampage feels she's not going to like what Alias is going to tell her, which she expresses regret for. Alias explains that while she was in Atlas, she got a chance to do some digging; one of the AI's primary tasks was shaping public opinion, using a host of dummy social media accounts--apparently so sophisticated that it was impossible for anyone but the most well-trained machine intelligence programmers to tell that it wasn't a breathing, living, flesh-and-blood human on the other end; it's the most advanced artificial intelligence that has ever existed, and it knows precisely what buttons to push to get people to do what it wants, what Atlas wants.
Rampage expects there's a lot more Alias hasn't told them, which she agrees on. But before she can continue, Rampage is informed by David "Section" Mason that he has spotted new arrivals, which he believes is an ops team--or the agent provocateurs Rampage had been expecting. She tells him to keep an eye on them as the crowd is ready to pop off, and the last thing they need are Atlas operatives in the mix stoking the flames, before Section signs off.
The ops team is revealed to have been led by Alex Keller, who deploy smoke grenades and causes the protest to turn violent. Fortunately, Rampage and her group is escorted out by Shadowfall.
Some time afterwards, Rampage is brought to meet with Frank Woods, while also being introduced to Shadowfall by Alias. She is present during Woods' briefing about Atlas Corporation. Woods advises them that need to find Dr. Mendelsohn, the Director's former colleague, to consult her about Atlas Corporation's Iron Will AI. When Cipher appears, Rampage voices her wariness at his presence, noting he's a wanted fugitive and that Woods is making them all an accessory for being there, but he reminds her that they're in dire circumstances and they need to make tough choices; they need Cipher's tracking skills.
