The Doppelghast is a special class enemy featured in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies mode. It appears in the maps Citadelle des Morts, The Tomb, Shattered Veil, Reckoning and Vandorn Farm.
Overview[]
The Doppelghast will first spawn in Round 12 in Citadelle des Morts, Round 14 in The Tomb, Round 22 in Reckoning and Round 40 in Vandorn Farm. The Doppelghast is a fast enemy that could awkwardly roam while chasing the player and can dodge to either of it sides when being aimed at, but is somewhat weak. Its ability consists of launching projectiles towards the player when in range, and when hit, it causes the player to temporarily slowdown. Upon death, it will start a short countdown before exploding, which causes players close to the blast to take damage, alongside slowness. It has a chance to spawn a Scorestreak alongside a Loot Key.
If a Parasite is left alive for a certain amount of time, it can evolve into a Doppleghast if there is a zombie nearby to infect. The Doppelghast is also able to evolve when it stops moving and starts screeching, which causes zombies to spawn around it that end up getting absorbed, which if left uninterrupted, will transform into an Amalgam.
On Citadelle des Morts, a Doppelghast is locked in a crate in the lower part of the castle. Upon death, it will drop a blood Aetherium crystal for the player to collect. The crystal must be placed in a portal to cause the appearance of the Pack-a-Punch Machine.
In Shattered Veil, a special HVT Doppleghast will be locked inside a cell upon opening the Service Tunnel, which requires a number code to be entered in the keypad. Opening the cell and killing the Doppleghast will drop a Severed Arm that is used as the final key item in obtaining a free Ray Gun Mark II in the Armory. Three Doppleghast statues can be found in the Serpent Mound tunnel as part of the Ray Gun Mark II-P upgrade quest.
Doppelghasts are weak to the Light Mend Ammo Mod.
