The Dragon Network Controller[1] is a buildable in Call of Duty: Black Ops III on Gorod Krovi. It is necessary in order to ride the Dragon to the Hatchery, where the Pack-a-Punch is located, as well as the Dragon Egg used to obtain the Gauntlet of Siegfried. There is a related accessory item that when equipped improves the efficiency of the Dragon Network Controller as well as offering fire/explosive damage resistance, the Dragon Wings.

Obtaining the Modules[]

In order to build the Dragon Network Controller, the player must first obtain three separate Code Cylinders. In order to do so, the player must first turn on the power and then interact with Sophia (the button underneath her center console will briefly flash green then back to red), both of which are located in the Dragon Command Center. After speaking with Sophia, zombies will begin occasionally dropping one of three code cylinders for consoles located in the Dragon Command Center, Supply Depot and Tank Factory respectively.

When a Code Cylinder is inserted into its corresponding console, a Groph Pod will fall onto a random location in the map denoted by a beam of light shooting into the sky above its location. The player must defend the Pod from a wave of zombies.

Upon killing 15 zombies close enough to it (they will be shocked by the Groph Pod to signify the kill counted), the Pod will open and present a module for the Dragon Network Controller which the player may claim. Once the player has defended Pods for the three separate cylinders and obtained all three modules, they can make their way to the Operations Bunker and insert the modules into the Dragon Network Console located roughly in the center of the room.

After doing so, the player may then call a Dragon from the Dragon Command Center, Supply Depot or Tank Factory to take them to the Hatchery which contains the Pack-a-Punch Machine.

  • Zombies begin attacking the Groph Pods almost immediately, no matter how far away it spawns from the player who inserted the Code Cylinder. In solo play, unfortunately this can sometimes lead to some very difficult to defend Groph Pods spawns if not prepared, as the Pod will be moderately/severely damaged by the time the player can ever reasonably run/slide to it unless they have Stamin-Up (Example: Supply Depot Code Cylinder, a Groph Pod can spawn on top of Infirmary next to Stamin-Up). If failed, acquiring another Code Cylinder from killing more zombies is required. Pieces for the Dragon Network Controller will still be acquired in left to right order based on what hasn't been acquired yet. Purchasing Stamin-Up in advance before calling in any Groph Pods and/or playing in co-op can mitigate the possibility of this issue occurring.
