Description

The Dreamland system, a. k. a. Dreamland Server 12, is an e-mail -, document - and information management system, found running on an in-game mainframe on Call of Duty: Black Ops.

The data server manages online filestorage and access to electronic information, like mail and other data files (texts, pictures and sounds) owned by the members of the Majestic 12 group.

It is the server for the members of the Majestic 12 group - also known as Majic 12, Majestic Trust, M12, MJ-12, MJ-XII, Majority 12 or Mars-Jupiter 12.

MJ-12 is the code name for a secret committee of scientists, military leaders, and government officials, supposedly formed in 1947 by an executive order of U.S. President Harry S. Truman. The alleged purpose of the committee was to investigate UFO activity in the aftermath of the Roswell incident - the supposed crash of the alien spaceship near Roswell, New Mexico, in July, 1947.

Dreamland is also a codename for Area 51, a top secret U. S. Air Force base in Nevada rumored to be experimenting with alien technology.

Access

The Dreamland system can be accessed by typing the following computer command within the in-game computer console :

& RLOGIN DREAMLAND

Then the player will need to enter a valid user - and password combination for the Dreamland server, e. g.:

USER: VBUSH
PASSWORD: MAJESTIC1

To return to the CIA data system, type RLOGIN CIA or EXIT. It is necessary to log back in with a CIA user to continue within the CIA system.

Users

Currently there are three known user accounts. On a real-life UNIX-based system, the WHO command outputs the names of system users, which the connected system user is allowed to see. Based on this and the output from the WHO command in-game, these are all the valid users that can connect to the Dreamland server.

WHO command

Users are listed in alphabetical order as they appear after entering the WHO command when connected with the DREAMLAND system.

 User: vbush - Password: MAJESTIC1
  • The user account of Dr. Vannevar Bush. Password can be found through hints within the file "MJ-12.TXT".
User: twalker - Password: THANKSDAD
  • The user account of T. Walker.
User: roppen - Password: TRINITY
  • The user account of Dr. Robert Oppenheimer.
  • User: Rlazar - Password: Unknown
  • User account of Bob lazar who, in the 1980's claimed to be working at area 51.

Content

When connected to the DREAMLAND system, the player can enter the DIR or LS command to see all the available files for the user currently logged in with. Any file-content can be viewed by entering CAT [file:name+extension] or TYPE [file:name+extension] or PRINT [file:name+extension].

There are nine files, name-patterned "GIANT[1-9].TXT" files. These are transcripts of the radio messages found on the Der Riese map. There are also assorted pictures of gas zombies and other zombie-related items, as well as many lines of coded text. The mail also contains a back and forth discussion of poems written by a soldier found within Verrückt archives.
