- "Also coming with this update for Multiplayer is a brand-new 6v6 mode Dropkick, a frantic game of hot potato where two squads battle for control of a briefcase containing nuclear codes. Be the first team to score 200 points and set off an explosive ending!"
- — Call of Duty Blog[1]
Dropkick was a game mode featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War introduced during Season One on January 14th, 2021. The mode was later removed at the launch of Season Two.
Dropkick was later added to Call of Duty: Mobile in April 2024 as part of Season 4: Fool's Gold.
Gameplay[]
In Dropkick, two teams of 6 (5 in Mobile) must fight over control of a briefcase. Whenever one team is in control of the briefcase, teammates of that team cannot respawn until the briefcase is dropped. Points are earned when holding the briefcase and the first team to 200 points wins, or until the 10 minutes are up.
In Black Ops Cold War, when a player holds the briefcase, they will only have an M1911 unless they have their own pistol in their loadout and no Equipment. Once the player has a hold of the briefcase, their position will broadcasted to each player every 3 seconds on the Minimap.
In Mobile, a player will be under similar restrictions as Black Ops Cold War, except for the inability to use custom pistols, retaining a basic MW11 with one reserve magazine. The briefcase must also be manually swung, but can catch multiple enemies within one swing.
