The Dual Kodachis were added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as part of the Season Five update.
They offer a higher range and one hit kill potential in core gamemodes but at the cost of having the worst mobility of the melee weapons.

The Dual Kodachis return in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. They were added as part of the Season Two update.
The Dual Kodachis are also available in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III as part of the Modern Warfare II content carryover.

In Modern Warfare III, the Dual Kodachis can be brought into Operation Deadbolt via Create-A-Class, at Common rarity and can be found at any rarity via the Mystery Box for 950 Essence. When upgraded via the Pack-a-Punch Machine or with Aetherium Crystals, it becomes the Fujin & Raijin.
