Call of Duty: World at WarEdit

In 1942, the German invasion had pushed the Eastern Front all the way to Stalingrad. Initially Soviet forces were suffering heavy casualties. However, following an assault on a Nazi communication post, Sgt. Reznov and Private Dimitri Petrenko were able to assassinate General Heinrich Amsel, dealing a heavy blow to the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union.

Three years later, the Red Army had pushed the Wehrmacht all the way back to Seelow Heights, where they overran many of the initial defenses with infantry in order to allow a large force of tanks to destroy a radio tower and smash the final positions there.

The Red Army infantry then commandeered a train to enter Berlin and surrounded it with a “ring of steel”. They then make a slow, methodical push toward the heart of Berlin, killing off the remaining German forces still making desperate stands against the Soviet forces. The battle on the Eastern front ended with the final assault on the Reichstag where the last remnants of the Wehrmacht and the Waffen SS were making their last stand. After they were overrun, Dimitri Petrenko proceeded to plant the Soviet flag on the Reichstag roof, claiming final victory for the Soviet Union.
