Upgrades[]
Like all Field Upgrades in Zombies, the Energy Mine can be upgraded using Aetherium Crystals.
- Tier I: Increase maximum charges to 2.
- Tier II: Double the size of the blast.
- Tier III: Mine detonates 2 times in rapid succession.
- Tier IV: Enemies damaged by the blast have their armor destroyed.
- Tier V: Mine detonates 3 times in rapid succession, stunning Special enemies.

Levels[]
Like all Field Upgrades in Zombies, Energy Mine can be upgraded during a game using Sacrificial Hearts at the Tome of Rituals.
- Level II – Stuns normal and Special enemies hit by Energy Mine for 3 seconds.
- Level III – Explodes 3 times in a row with a 0.75 second delay between explosions.
- Level IV – Increases the number of charges from 1 to 3.
- Level V – Increases the explosion radius by 66%.

Augments[]
Like all Field Upgrades in Zombies, Energy Mine can be imbued with two out of six possible Augments. Players can equip one Major Augment and one Minor Augment at a time.
Major Augments[]
- Scatter: The Energy Mine will split into three mines that scatter and detonate one time each.
- Turret: Instead of a mine, deploy a turret that shoots at the nearest enemy.
- Carousel: Three Energy Mines will float around you, detonating when an enemy is nearby.
Minor Augments[]
- Frequency Boost: Increase detonation count and duration of Energy Mine.
- Extra Charge: Increase max charges by one.
- Siren: Energy mine now attracts nearby normal enemies for a short time.
