"Use silenced sniper rifles and cunning to slip past the enemy patrols."
Spec Ops description

Evasion is the fourth Special Ops level in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and the Alpha group of operations. The objective is to evade enemy patrols and get to the safety of the village.

The Infinity Ward best time for Evasion is 43.65 seconds.

Overview

Stealth is very important in Evasion, as the enemy can quickly rush the player(s) once they are discovered. Dogs should take top priority since they can quickly sniff out the player and distract them long enough for the soldiers to come and overwhelm the player(s).

The enemies' layout is basically the same Contingency, though there are a few guards that are at the top of the slope who are blocking the way to the exfil point.

Unlike other Spec Ops, there are no weapons to select from, so players always start with a M14 EBR and USP .45. The pistol can be swapped, and it's recommended to do so if possible for a weapon with a grenadier attachment.

Players should avoid dealing with groups of four or more soldiers at a time unless they can use the M14 EBR; however, there is always a case where the player must take out three soldiers and a dog in order to proceed further. Fortunately, the M14 EBR fires fast enough that the player can neutralize all four hostiles at once. Try to aim for the head, or failing that, multiple shots to the torso to neutralize hostiles before they can alert their allies.

If the enemy becomes alerted to the player(s)' presence, it's best to restart if playing on Veteran, as its very easily to be quickly overwhelmed. On Regular and Hardened, it's possible to defeat the alerted enemies.

Trivia

  • In co-op, when one of the players makes it to the end before the other and walks up to the fence, Price or MacTavish will alert the player that they've been spotted, even if there are no more enemies left.
