Face Off is a playlist in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3[]

The playlist involves either two players versus two players, one versus one on small tight maps or three players versus three players. The mode itself is very similar to Cage Match in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Face Off is available to play on split-screen, private, and public matches. There are seven maps for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. It was never added to the Wii version.

A Hardcore variant also exists.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare[]

A similar mode called Gunfight was introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Unlike Face Off, this mode focuses primarily on one life matches with unique mechanics from standard multiplayer. Gunfight maps are also compatible with standard 6v6 multiplayer modes, and Face Off style matches can be created in Private Matches. Occasionally, a limited time  Face Off playlist is available, which features 3v3 respawn modes similar to the original gametype.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War[]

A Face Off playlist was added to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War during Season One. The playlist allows players to play 6v6 Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed and Hardpoint matches on the game's Gunfight maps. Scorestreaks are disabled and in Domination capture times are quicker, and time limits and score limits are shorter. A Hardcore variant is also available.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II[]

Face Off returned in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II as part of the Season Three Reloaded update on May 10th, 2023. It features no Killstreaks or Field Upgrades taking place on Gunfight maps.
