Call of Duty: Warzone[]

Power Grab[]

"Collect enemy Dog Tags to unlock rewards."
— Power Grab description
PowerGrab Logo WZ

A new limited-time mode called Power Grab was released in Warzone and was available between May 20th and June 3rd. The mode only supported up to 100 players in teams of three players with a smaller initial safe area compared to a traditional Battle Royale match. The playzone would also collapse only 5 times instead of 10 times for a standard game.

Players would spawn with a Milano 821, three Armor Plates and a Respawn Token as there was no Gulag system available in this mode. Loadout were also unavailable. When redeployed, players would keep the weapon they had when they died. Respawn crates could also spawn during the second collapse.

The purpose of the mode was to collect dog tags, which could be found in crates or earned from contracts or by killing enemy players. Each dog tag acquired would reward the players up to 9 rewards per life. When a dog tag was collected, the players would receive an Overdrive buff that would instantly regenerate their health and armor as well as giving them a Speed Boost for a duration of 6 seconds.

The 9 rewards were:

Verdansk[]

Main article: Verdansk

With the release of '80s Action Heroes, Verdansk received an update that added and modified several Point of Interests and locations. Ten survival camps were added throughout the maps replacing several campsites as a reference to 1985 movie Rambo: First Blood Part II. Loot and dog tags for the Power Grab mode could also be found within the camps. The interior of Hangar 21 inside the Arklov Peak military base was changed into a CIA outpost. In the outpost, players could launch a Bombardment around the hangar killing anyone in the area. Players could also interact with a map of Verdansk to update their Tac-Map which would then highlight all the survival camps.

In Tavorsk District, the government plaza was changed as the SNK Tower and several other buildings were replaced with the Nakatomi Plaza from 1988 movie Die Hard. The interior of the tower was available to the players starting with the first three floors as well as the Parking Garage, players could also reach the 30th floor using a rappelling rope placed in the elevator shaft. The 31st to 34th floors were also available and players could even reach the roof of the tower.

Three side missions were also available around the Nakatomi Plaza during the event. Each even rewarded the players with a keycard to open a specific locker within the Vault at the 31st floor. The locker could contain cash, loot, including killstreaks, Specialist bonus as well as a Contraband contract which was only available to the first player in a match.

The missions were:

  • Unfinished Business: Search Nakatomi Tower for the Vault key
    • Like a normal Scavenger contract, players needed to loot three specific crates inside the Nakatomi Tower. The last crate would drop the keycard.
  • Hostile Fire: Find and disarm the C4
    • In the 34th floor and the roof, a C4 could be found. Once a player interacted with a C4, three other C4 would spawn and the player would have two minutes to disarm all of them. An attack helicopter would also spawn and shoot at the player as they are disarming the explosives. The keycard would drop with the last C4 disarmed.
  • Deal Gone Wrong: Eliminate waves of enemies
    • Inside the Parking Garage, a radio could be found in an opened truck. When a player interacted with it, two waves of AI-controlled enemies would spawn. The first wave was made of 15 henchmen while the second wave was made of a single Brute enemy called Dany "The Pyro" acting like a Juggernaut. The keycard would drop after the Brute was killed.

While the side missions as well as the survival camps and the CIA outpost were removed on June 3rd, the Nakatomi Plaza remained available.
