The Fletcher-class of destroyers were a family of naval combat ships that saw extensive service with the United States Navy throughout World War II. They were featured in Call of Duty: World at War.
The Fletcher-class destroyers are first seen in the mission Black Cats. The destroyers are attacked by A6M Zero Kamikaze planes, resulting in Locke and the crew of the PBY Catalina Mantaray rescuing some of the crew-members towards the end of the mission.
A wrecked Fletcher-class destroyer can also be seen in the background of the multiplayer map Battery.
