The VTOL Cargo Plane is a vehicle that appears in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. It is a futuristic cargo aircraft with the ability to take off and land vertically. It is used by both the United States of America and Atlas Corporation.

Overview[]

The VTOL Cargo Plane is a futuristic cargo aircraft which has the notable ability to take off and land vertically via four sets of dual VTOL thrusters on its underbelly. This means the craft does not require a full length runway to take off, though it may sometimes do so, as seen in the intro cutscene in Throttle where some are taking off from a runway at the US airbase. These thrusters are covered by large doors when not being used.

The craft is generally sleek in design and utilises two engines for forward propulsion, which are integrated neatly into the top side of its wings, rather than exposed and underslung like most real world cargo planes.

Campaign[]

The plane first appears in the mission Sentinel, where it is being used to transport Manticore from Jonathan Irons personal estate in Bangkok to Rio Gallegos Air Base in Argentina. Cormack and Mitchell successfully attach a tracker to the plane as it takes off. It then shows up again in the mission Crash, where Sentinel Task Force successfully hijacks the plane and forces it to crash land in Antarctica. It makes a minor appearance in the opening cutscene of Throttle, where several can be seen parked in and taking off from the US airbase prior to the assault on New Baghdad.
