Biography[]
Flamewing is first seen in her mansion in the UK, where she is met by Dark Shepherd, who informs her that the Templar has resurfaced, and that it's 'time for the Flamewing to fly again'. She expresses surprise that he is there as she heard that Dark Shepherd was slain in New Vision City. Dark Shepherd confirms this, that his 'predecessor' fell in the line of duty delivering Cipher to their appointed location, and that the current Dark Shepherd was activated afterwards.
Seeming unbothered, Flamewing derides him, saying "There's always a Dark Shepherd.", "He who gathers", the one to bring the lambs to the slaughter. She then asks what will happen if she refuses. Taken aback by her statement, Dark Shepherd says that the Couteau line endangers them all. Still unconvinced, Flamewing retorts that she doesn't see any Couteaus there, and wonders what will happen if she stays there to drink her Chablis and let the other families sort it out--maybe send in another Dark Shepherd.
Dark Shepherd reminds Flamewing that she took an oath to protect the interests of the Tontine, and she retorts that the St. Georges are one of the Tontine's founding families, so he shouldn't lecture her on duty. Nonetheless, she agrees to find the Couteau threat, but only doing it to protect her family and no other.
Later, she tracks Edouard and his daughter Sophia to a campfire in a forest, ambushing them by dropping a grenade near them. She announces to Edouard that the Tontine has demanded her to bring him in alive, but decides to save them all the trouble and keep it simple--choosing to fight to the death. A fight ensues between her and the Couteaus. Despite her best efforts, Flamewing is defeated by the combined might of Edouard and Sophia.
Despite her defeat, Flamewing survives, and is shown recuperating in her mansion. Grumbling about not wanting to stay in bed, she tells her butler she intends to remain at the foyer. Just then, she is contacted by the Tontine, who asks about her recovery. She informs them that she will be right as rain in a matter of days. The Tontine members scold her for choosing to take on the Couteaus alone, despite having a full unit of Tontine commandos at her beck, and the Couteaus still live. Unmoved, Flamewing retorts that it's good and easy for them to sit comfortably wherever they are while the rest do their work for them; but she also notes that the reason she is still alive is because of Templar, who left her alive to deliver a message to the Tontine--to tell "the General" Templar is coming for them.
Despite the Tontine dismissing it as nonsense boasting and a ploy to unnerve her, one of them notes that if Templar knows the identity of one of the Tontine lords, he could only be headed to the fabled stronghold of the Couteau in the French Alps and claim the Gideon armor. The individual tells the Tontine to activate their agents in France and track down the Couteaus, before hanging up the call.
