Call of Duty: Ghosts[]

"Reduces muzzle flash for precise aiming."
— In-game description

The Flash Suppressor in Call of Duty: Ghosts reduces the muzzle flash when firing, thus making the weapon more precise. It is easier to track targets when using it, and it becomes harder for enemies to recognize the player at a distance. These effects are similar to the Silencer but without the drop in range nor stealth benefits.

While the attachment is harmless in its effect, said effect is merely cosmetic, and there exist other ways to combat the muzzle flash on the player's end through using optical attachments, which mitigate the effect of muzzle flash despite not reducing it. Its effect being merely cosmetic makes the Flash Suppressor an extremely uncommon and unpopular attachment, as most players prefer to use an attachment that has far more tangible benefit. The reduced muzzle flash can make it more difficult for enemies to track the user's exact position, but the user still appears as a red dot on radar when firing and the weapon is just as loud as normal, so detection is far from impossible.

In most instances, it is more common to see the Flash Suppressor via it being attached to a weapon someone acquired from an Ammo Crate rather than from someone legitimately wanting to use the attachment.
