Kind of Related, but in the opposite directionEdit

Can we make a page where admins can suggest things users can do to improve the wiki? Black Ops Official logoPoketape Talk 23:53, August 30, 2011 (UTC)

Why only admins? Why not make a page like runescape:RS:UH, where anyone can request things to be done or request help. I think having a page for both of these things would be good btw. One page for general help and requests, and one page for requests for things that require admin tools. Joeytje50talk i is gud admin

Any more stuff from the Runescape Wiki and COD:NOT won't be needed anymore. We can't steal everything don't forget YELLOWLUCARIO TALK  11:31, September 2, 2011 (UTC)
We're not stealing anything, and we haven't stolen anything. Just what are you implying, many of the best things on this wiki were discussed in the War Room, and apparently you've forgotten to read the other policies, such as trying to use COD:NOT as a way to shoot down an idea. COD:NOT applies as "because X wiki uses it, we must too". Not that we can't use some things that are in, say RSWiki. And per Contributor, it's not stealing. - Spetsnaz Logo MW2 MLGISNOT4ME [Talk] - 18:07, September 4, 2011 (UTC)
I'm pissed off by the overuse of COD:NOT. Are we not to use templates because other wikis use them? Besides, I've never even been to the Runescape Wiki, so acting like this wasn't my idea is wrong. Black Ops Official logoPoketape Talk 01:27, September 6, 2011 (UTC)
Just to note, there's now a clause in COD:NOT that states that it should not be used as a filibuster for War Room discussions. -- sactage (talk) 19:06, September 7, 2011 (UTC)
There's also a clause in COD:DGTS about using things as filibusters. The Wikia Contributor T | C | E | Q00:03, September 8, 2011 (UTC)

I don't get it. - Spetsnaz Logo MW2 MLGISNOT4ME [Talk] - 13:36, August 31, 2011 (UTC)

It's the opposite of the proposed page for admins. Admins could put things that can be done by editors like:

  1. Make a template for COD4 vehicles.
  2. Remove the speculation from the moon page.
  3. Go praise Smuff.

I've done something similar in special chat especially before codferences to help editors get 50 edits. Carbonite 0 04:28, September 1, 2011 (UTC)

Carbonite, you are now officially the next 'crat for doing all of that. Shame you can't get UoTM again for about 2 years or so....so if that's what users do, it'll be the experienced with codes who will make the templates, then the fast editors to get rid of the speculation, and this guy who has to go praise Smuffin. Pretty good idea Carbohydrate. YELLOWLUCARIO TALK  11:31, September 2, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah like that. Black Ops Official logoPoketape Talk 22:51, September 2, 2011 (UTC)
I was one of the people he helped out, anyway this is a good idea I think. Carb definetly earned his spot. REDSKIN-26Personal Redskin-26 Squirtle sprite17:54, September 4, 2011 (UTC)

One example is Shi No Numa/Quotes. The quotes need to be categorized like the other quote pages. Black Ops Official logoPoketape Talk 22:51, September 2, 2011 (UTC)

Early Closing and implementationEdit

Ok I am aware this isn't how the war room operates on topics but per COD:BB I'm going to suggest it anyway. Since I'm seeing very little opposition to the proposal, personally tried to think of reasons why it should be opposed (didn't come up with any really good reasons) and an extreme need for just this sort of thing I would personally recommend this be implemented as soon as possible, preferably before the end of this week.

With all the info from CODXP and the wave of new pages that flooded the wiki naturally some aren't exactly up to par with our pages that have "simmered" on the wiki for months. Not to mention all the pictures that need to be added, grammar corrected and just regular tidying up. Heck a good lot of them still don't have infoboxes even though we have info to go into them.

Again, I am aware this is not how the war room operates but having a page to point out specific pages/things that can be attended to even by newer editors would make this process a lot easier on everyone since attention could be focused where it is needed rather then any old place. Carbonite 0 04:31, September 7, 2011 (UTC)

What should it be called? "User action request page" sounds like we're asking for help when we're admins. Perhaps calling it "Wiki Clean-up page" or "Wiki Fixing page" might be better. Black Ops Official logoPoketape Talk 00:16, September 8, 2011 (UTC)

I just named it User Requests. I'm not concerned about the name since that can changed at a later time and I swallow my pride and ask for help when I know I need help; we're admins, doesn't mean we can't be overwhelmed with stuff to do around here. Carbonite 0 02:00, September 9, 2011 (UTC)
