I think COD:LEAK should be changed. Activision told us to not upload content from leaked builds of Modern Warfare 2. They said nothing about things like achievements or "leaked" stuff from news websites. The policy should be changed to the following:

  • Content from leaked builds of the game is not permitted before official release of the game.
  • Content from leaked builds is permitted after the game's release.

Activision contacted wikia saying we can't leak ANY info from ANY of their games pretty much. YELLOWLUCARIO TALK  17:43, November 9, 2011 (UTC)

We can't leak, but what if popular websites such as leaked something? Activision requested wikia to remove only the image of Team Player came from stolen build of MW2. SiPlus 12:29, November 10, 2011 (UTC)
No, sorry, SiPlus. Any leaked info that doesn't come from Activision, or its affiliates, is a big no-no. The last thing the wiki needs is to get into a big legal row with Activision. Sgt. S.S. 21:30, November 10, 2011 (UTC)
Addendum: Also, seeing as you can't be too careful with copyrights and such like, I'd say COD:LEAK is really only there as a contingency plan. Sgt. S.S. 21:32, November 10, 2011 (UTC)

The only leaked things we are able to write about is stuff leaked by Activision or any of its owned companies affiliated with the development of the games.  FANMADE_Animated_Derpy_Hooves_desktop_ponies_sprite.gif Sig1.png Sig2.png  17:52, November 9, 2011 (UTC)

To clarify, Activision never told us to do anything. They claimed copyright violation to Wikia staff about some articles on campaign levels from Modern Warfare 2 before the game's release. The very existence of the policy is our own will. Master SergeantSgt. ChiafriendRifleman 00:27, November 10, 2011 (UTC)

Was that big MW3 leak illegal? If not, then we should've sucked up its information. 30pxPoketapeTalk 05:35, November 10, 2011 (UTC)

Closed -- Policy will remain unchanged as we are not at liberty to change it. Shotrocket6 07:24, November 24, 2011 (UTC)
