As discussed in here, several users agreed with a raw idea of making header templates (the ones on MS articles used to signify sdelete, ID nomination, AfD nomination etc) plain and only include the text needed to know.

Let's take the good old speedy deletion template as an example. In that, there's a picture of Al-Asad about to execute Al-Fulani, Cpt. Price's line "It won't be long before Codename: Article will be deleted." and the info on the page being a candidate for sdel. (Even though I guess everyone here already knew that).

As with the proposal, it would only have a white background, the image of info symbol and read "This article is a target for speedy ...". Also remember that this does not only include speedy deletion, but other header templates as well.

This would be done in order to prevent any confusion between editors that are unfamiliar with them, and to prevent changes to the quote in the beginning.

What the new template would look like (thanks to Eltomo85 for making it (AFAIK, I'm not definitely sure)):

In my opinion, this template should be used. Any opinions and arguments are welcome. - Spetsnaz Logo MW2 MLGISNOT4ME [Talk] - 20:09, August 31, 2011 (UTC)

I think this template makes the wiki look sterile and boring. Call of Duty is interesting, so why can't its templates be interesting too? Black Ops Official logoPoketape Talk 01:00, September 1, 2011 (UTC)

While they are funny (usually) and creative, as said, new people often forget their purpose. - Spetsnaz Logo MW2 MLGISNOT4ME [Talk] - 12:28, September 1, 2011 (UTC)
Do we? If people see something that catches their eye, then if they have brains they'll read it (this of course bars out a few anons or people who are too young to understand) YELLOWLUCARIO TALK  11:22, September 2, 2011 (UTC)
That's what I'm talking about. Anons and younger users don't catch their eye in that "Al-Asad = speedy deletion". There are many new users (and anons in that matter). - Spetsnaz Logo MW2 MLGISNOT4ME [Talk] - 12:23, September 2, 2011 (UTC)
Then they read the text underneath, and revel in understanding what it is. -- -- mr_expert talk 19:41, September 2, 2011 (UTC)
Expert is 100% right. If it grabs your attention, it pwns Wikipedia's (boring) templates anyday. YELLOWLUCARIO TALK  20:56, September 2, 2011 (UTC)

I think this template is absolutely perfect. It's exactly what a template should be: short, sweet, and to the point, with no dicking around with cruddy modified one-liners. All our templates should look like this, IMO. Sgt. S.S. 19:34, September 2, 2011 (UTC)

Templates are fine as they are. tbh it doesn't take a brainbox to read all the text and understand it. Especially when it is clearly understandable with the text beneath clearing up any signs of confusion. -- -- mr_expert talk 19:41, September 2, 2011 (UTC)

I think the real problem is that people make multiple templates for the same thing. Black Ops Official logoPoketape Talk 18:37, September 3, 2011 (UTC)

Nobody gives that much of a crap about whether or not the template is themed or not; the only time anyone ever complains about templates is when you people try making a new one. Leave them alone and move on with your lives. Smuff[citation provided] 19:02, September 3, 2011 (UTC)

Slight error in your logic, Smuff. At least one user must give a crap about it, otherwise this forum would never have been made. Sgt. S.S. 21:16, September 3, 2011 (UTC)
Smuff got pwned. Hip-techboy Christmas 21:20, September 3, 2011 (UTC)
