I know this topc will probably be archived pretty soon, but I thought I may as well bring it up. While strolling through the mainspace I have been changing KIA to K.I.A., as well as Killed in action to K.I.A.. However, I realized I may have been making the wrong move. This is also seen on the Raptor page; many pages say "Wounded in action" but very very few say W.I.A.. So which is correct? 13:49, August 20, 2011 (UTC)
Basically Killed/Wounded/Missing in Action and KIA/WIA/MIA are all correct. Still, I'd prefer the latter ones (and it doesn't matter so much if there's dots between the letters or not). If someone wouldn't know what they mean they can look up in a dictionary. Template:Sig/MLG 14:08, August 20, 2011 (UTC)
I prefer abbreviations. Should we vote on which one to use?14:21, August 20, 2011 (UTC)
- Maybe, but let's discuss a bit first. *discusses* Template:Sig/MLG 14:34, August 20, 2011 (UTC)
- Abbreviations require periods between them, otherwise they are grammatically incorrect. But I believe the Wounded in Action is better than W.I.A. The Wikia Contributor T | C | E | Q15:06, August 20, 2011 (UTC)
- Acronyms don't require periods though. In the military, it's MIA, KIA, POW, ect. And why even discuss this? Just use both the acronyms and full words. Its not like it's hurting the wiki in anyway to use both of 'em.

- I just want to make the wiki seem like it's not all different, so it doesn't look like we don't know what we're doing. On a similar note, I will start making K.I.A. to KIA and changing Killed in action to KIA. 15:37, August 20, 2011 (UTC)
