I disagree. There's no reason to adopt a misleading name. This a wiki about the Call of Duty series and only the Call of Duty series. Not equipment, not weapons, not militaries, not history, but Call of Duty. The name is fine as is. Smiling Jack 15:03, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

I didnt mean use that name, it was an exapmle, I wanted people to say waht they think a new name for the wiki. Most major wikis started off just the Example Wiki, and became Examplepedia. This would invovle a new logo. I just think as this wiki largens, we will need a new name. Errettung^RetiredMod

I would love to see us come up with a name but I'm just not sure anything that fits with Call of Duty in it is possible. As we are about the series in a whole that rules out the name of one game. I personaly think that "call of duty" is a perfect name for the wiki. I cant think of anything else that accuratly describes it other then that. Also we are depsertly in need of a new logo. RoyalOrleans 21:29, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, Call of Duty is the perfect name it just doesnt roll off the toungue well. It is hard to find a suitable name. I was thinkin Pricepedia but then it sounds like a product wiki lol. But a new logo is a must.Errettung^RetiredMod

I think that the name is fine as is, would a person go to the Call of Duty wiki or CoDpedia, honestly... and I do think we need a new motto, "No one edits alone" is a bit, well, it's cliche, I guess is the word. Pvt. Bartlett^Marksman

The motto is pretty gay. I think something short and sweet would be nice. Something like "The Call of Duty Wiki: Your #1 place for anything in the call of duty universe". (haha note that isnt a serious suggest) RoyalOrleans 14:04, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

I recommend against changing the wiki's name. When people search for a Call of Duty wiki, they will search in Google "call of duty wiki". Since this wiki's title is Call of Duty Wiki, it should be the first result (though this wiki is third[1], which is understandable as its usually a challenge to get above Wikipedia). Changing the wiki's name to exclude "call of duty wiki" will result in the wiki dropping down in the Google rank. Generally, so that a wiki is easier to find, the wiki's name should be "<subject> wiki", like "Pencils Wiki" or "Paper Wiki", not something like "Paperpedia" or "Pencilpedia" as these won't show up well in results when people search "paper wiki" or "pencil wiki" in Google. "Ghilliepedia"? Wha...? I don't even know how to pronounce that, let alone where that came from. I think the name should be kept as it is, though. Wikis that have non-default names (Halopedia, Wookieepedia, Wikipedia, etc.) are generally large. We, though, are small. Sgt. Chiafriend^Rifleman 10:25, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

"Ghilliepedia" would be a a cross between a ghille suit and encyclopedia. Though i find it easy to pronounce, your right in as that wouldnt work. RoyalOrleans 13:06, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

I know it's been a while, but as far as I see it, the topic is still open. If we were indeed to find a good non standard name like Halopedia did, couldn't we just make "The Call of Duty Wiki" our motto? Like, instead of "Call of Duty Wiki, No one edits alone" We could make it "X pedia, The Call of Duty Wiki".
