As Batman mentioned to some of us on the chat, there will probably be spoiler heavy videos in the related videos section of most Ghost articles (Character, weapon and all that). Although yes, you'd be looking at a page that does contain spoilers, it's still the fact that as soon as you would start scrolling down you'd end up seeing "X's DIES CUTSCENE" or something close to those lines. Since stuff like that will happen, it'd be nice if we could manage to remove the feature before Tuesday. {{Sig/Deathmanstratos}}01:16, November 2, 2013 (UTC)

Forums: Index War Room Turning off related videos again
Forum logo

We already had the issue of related videos being turned off since any user could add a video to it. This was supposedly fixed by making it so only admins could add to the featured videos list. However, I think this may co-inside with the new "auto-upload" feature, now this list will use any video on the wiki. Given many users have placed videos on user and talk pages, it means a lot of personal videos have worked their way into the related videos section. An example will be given at the end of this paragraph. As this is the issue, we will either have to go about deleting all the personal videos from the Special:Videos section, or simply turn off the related videos, since this will be an ongoing issue since there's no way we can constantly keep personal videos off the wiki.

Discussion

Support - Even without all its problems, I'm not convinced it's a very practical feature anyway. -- laagone (talk)  19:09, August 22, 2013 (UTC)

Pictogram voting support Support — So far it is not a feature that is ready for us yet. The SCP video is just there, and it clogs spaces in pages. http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2013/009/1/b/fennekin_animated_by_thunderboltelemental-d5qw861.gif Maxxis<FENNEKIN!> 10:06, August 25, 2013 (UTC)

Pictogram voting support Support — Per Sam. The feature seems to be near useless, and with the auto-upload, none of the "related videos" are usually related to the wiki. http://i.imgur.com/4XBy83R.pngAntiScootaTwotalk  16:59, August 25, 2013 (UTC)

Pictogram voting comment Comment — Just an edit. I recently removed and re-added the SCP song from the Wiki. When it was gone the video tab on the side was empty, which it likely should be on most pages, and when re-added it was on all the pages again. This may be something to do with the song, but I don't know what it is about that file that triggers it being on every page. But if it can happen to this video it could happen to any video.

Pictogram voting support Support — I strongly agree with AntiScootaTwo. Joe Copp 00:14, September 7, 2013 (UTC)

Pictogram voting support Support — I have never liked it in the first place and I don't even know anyone that uses it. Per all. --Personal AndImBatman Sig imageBats a.k.a Rarity Filly  02:24, September 8, 2013 (UTC)

Pictogram voting comment Comment — As seen below the videos section has once again been altered in such a way that it no longer shows videos even slightly related to Call of Duty.

Pictogram voting support Support — There are non-COD videos a lot of the time, and when there are COD videos, they usually aren't related to the page. Price 22:04, October 15, 2013 (UTC)

Pictogram voting support Support — This feature really doesn't have a use to begin with, as many pages do not even have YouTube videos, and those that do are usually the LeftyGamer videos and sound files. Now with the feature just linking any video whatsoever, it has shown it is not in any way a useful addition. MetlTalk 02:41, October 24, 2013 (UTC)

Pictogram voting support Support — We really don't need this. --Cataphract_%28Civ5%29.png SlavByzantine_%28Civ5%29.pngTalkDromon_%28Civ5%29.png 20:47, October 28, 2013 (UTC)

Pictogram voting support Support — Per all, I rarely see a video related to the pages, and usually if they are they are on the page. http://i.imgur.com/GhKJh.pngP90Deathmanhttp://i.imgur.com/uceaHlB.png10:17, October 29, 2013 (UTC)

Pictogram voting support Support — Totally not needed. IMO it's more of an annoyance, really. Pinkiepiejump.gif FireBird-Pinkie Pie!  01:08, November 2, 2013 (UTC)
